Position:                      Export Manager

Department:                 Sales Department

Job Qualifications:

• Tertiary level education
• Furniture, automotive & decorative finishes knowledge, as well as Supervisory Management, leadership skills, supervisory, problem solving and training skills are an asset.
• The incumbent will be adaptable and tolerant of the constant changes brought on by the nature of developing new markets.
• Knowledge of product planning, marketing research, consumer behavior and advertising, capital budgeting, entrepreneurship and sales forecasting are also helpful.
• Knowledge and usage of Microsoft Word and Excel

• The Manager will be required to stay abreast of the latest industry technologies and practices.
• Extensive Knowledge in the furniture, automotive, Industrial and decorative paint industry is required an asset.
• Basic understanding of the application and performance aspects of paint and coating products.
• Coordinate ‘technical corners’ and forums to introduce, promote and demonstrate new and existing products to export customer. Visit potential customer to persuade them of the benefits of using our products.

Experience:

A minimum of five (5) years in the field of sales at a supervisory level is required.

MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES

The Export Manager oversees and coordinates the company's international sales and export activities, ensuring compliance with trade regulations, assist in managing logistics of the shipments and building relationships with foreign clients and distributors.

SCOPE OF WORKS

Defined as follows:

1. Develop and present strategic plans for achieving the companies export goals
2. Meet with new and existing export clients to support and grow sales volumes
3. Identify new export markets and:
1. set targets for sales based on GDP of market,
2. conduct the relevant due diligences for trade and establish prices with Cost Accountant and General Manager based on market conditions. 
3. work to develop these new business and growth opportunities
4. manage volumes and margins (to generate efficiency for manufacturing and margins for earnings).
4. Serve as primary contact for all export customers
5. Provide leadership and guidance to export customer service, planning and logistics teams to ensure customers receive their appropriate shipments- will require liaison with production department head as well.
6. Work with international brokers who attend international trade shows and meetings to identify new opportunities
7. Investigate new sales opportunities and actively solicit business from potential customers
8. Utilise in-depth industry knowledge to build credibility an become a trusted advisor to overseas customers
9. Knowledge of the details of export business to ensure that government policies, labelling systems, transportation and payment laws are followed
10. Negotiate and monitor in conjunction with the Cost Accountant and General Manager, export rates and services to reduce operating costs and increase profitability.
11. Establish annual budgets by market, existing and new
12. Respond promptly to customer complaints and look to find winning solutions in conjunction where necessary with the technical department
13. Provide after sales services through the coordination of training initiatives.
14. Local market duties may apply in relation to providing assistance in sales and growth strategy management for retail and general sales
