Job Summary:

The Plant Hygienist provides technical knowledge to establish and maintain procedures for the day-to-day execution of the plant hygiene and sanitation program. Ensures compliance with the SQF, corporate and international regulatory requirements to reduce risk due to microbiological contamination of food, food-contact surfaces, and food packaging materials.

Job Responsiblities:

To ensure all CIP/COP procedures are adhered to.
Ensures that all machinery sanitization is within specification according to master schedules and within specified timeframes.

Ensure all cleaning and sanitization processes (CIP/COP) and external sanitation are executed according to specified procedures.
Advises on optimal sanitation to minimize cost and downtime; while ensuring that the products are protected where there are no food safety risk or risk of cross contamination.
Report to Quality Manager and Head of Manufacturing about any changes to the process flow with respect to sanitation.

To liaise with Micro B to ensure validation is successful (no failures)
Participate in the review of changes pertaining to Equipment, utilities, and process to ensure no negative impact on food safety.
Assist in designing cleaning (CIP/COP) and sanitization procedures (SIP/SOP) for new systems.
Develop implement and maintain appropriate hygiene zoning requirements for assigned areas alongside Head of Manufacturing, Quality Manager, Senior Microbiologist and HSE Manager.

Tracking and trending records are updated for reporting.

Timely and accurate submission of all related documentation.
Participate in the investigations of micro-related quality issues (e.g., consumer complaints, spoilage, trending failures, etc.)

Investigations were carried out immediately and restorative action taken.

Review chemical Performance with supplier for process optimization.

Qualification and Experience Requirements:

Bachelor Degree in Natural Sciences or equivalent.
Diploma in chemistry or process engineering with a minimum of three (3) years combination experience in beverage manufacturing, CIP/COP and external equipment cleaning operations and regulatory compliance.
Working knowledge of Microsoft Office, Excel, Power Point
