Job Summary:

To provide oversight of the operations and day-to-day activities at the hotel towards generating revenue and maximizing guest satisfaction

Direct Reports:

Housekeeping Supervisor

Front Desk Clerks

Driver/Maintenance Officer

Duties and Responsibilities:

• Planning and directing services for guests/patrons
• Coordinating Food and Beverage services for the in-house restaurant
• Identify the human resources required for the effective operation of the establishments
• Working with the HR Department with respect to the recruitment, onboarding and training of staff 
• Making recommendations on areas for staff development
• Providing oversight of costing, purchasing and inventory control and working with the Finance Department towards establishing the appropriate checks and balances
• Supervising the hotel staff and setting the appropriate rosters/schedules to ensure maximum guest satisfaction
• Monitoring staff performance, liaising with the HR Department regarding disciplinary action if required and conducting performance
• Ensuring adherence to all statutory regulations including HSE, copyright, licenses, environmental etc
• Working with the Marketing Department towards promotion and sales activities for maximum profitability
• Implementing new procedures, policies and initiatives to enhance guest/patron satisfaction levels

Qualifications and Experience:

• A minimum of a Bachelor's Degree in Hospitality Management or Business Management from an accredited institution
• At least eight (8) years' experience in a similar role, at least three (3) of which should be in Food & Beverage Management
• An appropriate combination of qualifications and experience will be considered

Working Conditions:

• Will require working within a shift system and additional hours on weekdays, weekends and holidays
  • Must be available on an on-call basis if required
