CIVIL ENGINEER

Background

Segamu 14 Consults Limited is a Ugandan, based Engineering Consultancy Firm established with the objective of providing consultancy services in Engineering and Planning, Water and Sanitation and Environment and Social Safeguards.

We now wish to recruit a competent individual to fill the position of a CIVIL ENGINEER with the following duties and responsibilities:

• • Project coordination
• • Project Management
• • Participating in Civil Design assignment
• • Works supervision, contract administration and project management.
• • Undertake Technical and progress reporting.
• • Preparation of employer submittals.
• • Quality assurance on company projects
• • Deployment and Supervision junior staff.
• • Review and amendment of design drawings.
• • Review of contractor shop drawings.
• • Custody and supply of drawings and documents.
  • • To apply and maintain the Contract QA Plan with respect to all work at all levels and ensuring that the Works comply with the specifications in all respects.
  • • Proactively attend to any actions related to design amendments or design information required by the Client/Contractor. Any uncertainty of these requirements should immediately be discussed with the responsible parties
  • • Maintain the Request for Approval system on the project.
  • • Liaison with the Client Structures when requested by the Supervisor
    • • Check drawings, plans, calculations, measurements and payment certificates prepared by Contractors
    • • Performing any other duties and responsibilities assigned by immediate supervisor in accordance with job roles, company policy, and/ or prevailing conditions.

Duty Station:

The duty station is Uganda-East Africa.

Minimum Requirements & Qualification:

• • Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering or Internationally recognized equivalent.
• • 7 years post graduate experience of carrying out road designing and construction supervision.

Jamaican Nationals are most preferred whether with dreadlocks or any kind of hair style.

Preferred language is English both spoken and written
