RONDEL VILLAGE JOB DESCRIPTION : DRIVER/PROPERTY ATTENDANT
QUALIFICATION AND EXPERIENCE
- General Driver’s License, licensed to drive Motor Cars and Trucks N/E 5000KG.
- 5 years driving experience with at least 3 years at the general level.
- Technical skills and knowledge in defensive driving
- Knowledge in general vehicle maintenance
- Compliance with vehicle operating instructions
SKILLS REQUIREMENT/KEY COMPETENCIES
REPORTING RELATIONSHIP
Reports to: Managing Director
Liaise internally with: Directors/ Managers/ Supervisors and all work teams.
Liaise externally with: Business Partners, firms, personnel, Suppliers, Guests, etc.
CORE FUNCTIONS
- The vehicle is to be operated within the prescribed speed limits, observing all the rules of safety.
- Road Code violations including any traffic offences committed are your own responsibility.
- Respond immediately to emergencies, assisting where necessary.
- Adherence to procedures, compliance with Health and Safety requirements
- Ensure that the quality of service is to the agreed standards.
- Completion of designated assignments in accordance with all stated requirements
- Make recommendations for improvement in lowering vehicle operating costs.
- Adhere to the Hotel’s policies, rules and regulations

DRIVING DUTIES
- Ensure that driving assignments are carried out in a safe, timely manner with particular attention to punctuality.
- Complete daily tasks within the prescribed timeframe
- The vehicle is to be operated within the prescribed speed limits and observing all the rules of safety.
- Proper care in vehicle operation must be exercised, no misuse/abuse of the vehicle including negligence.
- No unauthorized person is permitted to operate the vehicle, no unauthorized passengers to be transported.
- The vehicle shall not be used for hire or transportation of any goods and services other than hotel supplies.
- The vehicle is to be parked at the end of each working day.
- Exercise care and safety in operating the vehicle, use fuel, consumables, etc. efficiently avoiding wastage.
- Know and obey the rules and regulations that govern the resort.
- Duties will include driving the Managing Director to Kingston, Montego Bay and other destinations island wide.
- Carrying out any other duties required to ensure the efficient and effective operations of the Hotel
- Performing any additional functions the management of the resort may request
- Responsible for the vehicle routine maintenance by checking oil, water, coolant, transmission fluid, battery, etc.
- Responsible for the vehicle periodic maintenance by ensuring servicing, inspections, fitness, license, insurance.
- Clean interior and exterior of the vehicle weekly by washing, vacuuming, detailing with Armor all, Conditioners.
PROPERTY ATTENDANT DUTIES
- Responsible for assisting with the check-in of the guests by showing them to their room/villa and taking their luggage to the rooms/villas. Also to show the guests how to use the various amenities & equipment in the villas and rooms, including the whirlpool spa in villas.
- Responsible to record the license numbers of all vehicles parked on the property and keep a record.
- Proper documentation of all activities must be recorded daily in the security logbook.
- Check all unoccupied villas/rooms and ensure that they are securely locked.
- All bags carried by staff are to be secured in lockers at the main gate.
- Collect in- house guest list and radio from front office.
- All visitors arriving on property must register with the Front Desk.
- Answer telephones in a courteous manner
- Hours of work – six (6) days per week: 8:00am-3:40pm ,9:00-4:40pm, 12:00-7:40pm, One(1) hr Lunch
- Duties may on occasion require going over normal shift hours but there are no overtime payments attached unless specifically authorised by management. Shifts are subject to change without notice.
