Software Testing Engineer - Consultant

Key Responsibilities:

• Design and execute comprehensive test cases and test plans for Android and iOS applications.
• Perform manual testing, including functional, regression, usability, compatibility, and exploratory testing.
• Conduct cross-device and cross-platform testing to ensure app compatibility on various Android and iOS devices.
• Identify, document, and track defects using tools like Jira, Bugzilla, or equivalent.
• Validate app performance under different network conditions and device configurations.
• Collaborate with development teams, product managers, and other stakeholders to ensure alignment with project requirements.
• Provide detailed test results and bug reports, including steps to reproduce and expected outcomes.
• Stay updated with the latest mobile testing trends, tools, and OS updates for Android and iOS.
• Design and implement test strategies, ensuring comprehensive coverage and alignment with product
• Review test cases, ensuring they cover all aspects of the application functionality.

Primary Skills:

• Strong expertise in manual testing of Android and iOS mobile applications.
• Proficiency in creating and executing test cases based on requirements and user scenarios.
• Hands-on experience with defect management tools like Jira, Bugzilla, or similar.
• Experience with mobile testing tools like BrowserStack, TestFlight, or Firebase.
• Knowledge of mobile testing best practices, including compatibility, usability, and accessibility
• Basic knowledge of Charles web proxy tool
• Basic knowledge of API testing using tools like Postman.

• Work closely with product and design teams to ensure test are aligned with business goals and user experience strategies
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
• Strong communication and teamwork abilities.

• Demonstrated ability in designing and implementing test plans and strategies

Secondary Skills:

• Familiarity with device emulators/simulators and cloud-based testing platforms.
• Awareness of Agile and Scrum methodologies and experience participating in agile ceremonies.
• ISTQB certification or equivalent is a plus.
