Inventory Count Officer
JOB SUMMARY
To perform counts and ensure all inventory is accounted for and reported according to company policy. Also, to conduct subsequent investigations as directed, to ensure that accurate stock quantities and values are consistently reflected in the inventory records for relevant Stores, Warehouses, Sub Warehouses, Stock Rooms, and Centralized Centres.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES - MASSY STORES
- Conduct perpetual daily inventory counts on selected items at various stores and/or distribution warehouses and compare balances for the same held in the relevant system.
- Accurately record and enter inventory data into the store’s inventory management system.
- Identify and report discrepancies between physical inventory counts and digital records.
- Where directed, investigate variances resulting from inventory counts at Stores, Warehouses, Sub Warehouses, and Centralized Centers.
- Perform checks on open receiving documents when necessary from both external suppliers and Central Warehouse to ensure that all documents are closed before the commencement of the counting exercise. (Stores)
- Generate various pre-scanning SMS inventory reports to reflect the store’s pre-count inventory valuation.
- Generate various inventory reports which reflect the value of the store’s/warehouse’s inventory valuation – items outside the scope of those to be counted are investigated and corrected.
- Ensure all documents are filed in a timely and comprehensive manner.
- Assist with restocking shelves and organising products as needed.
- Support Database Management when necessary.
- Participate in training sessions and team meetings to stay updated on best practices and company policies.
- Assist in any other area as necessary in support of the Inventory Control Unit and the Company’s activities.
- All responsibilities and accountabilities must be executed by following the company’s Customer Service Management System (CSMS) and Quality Health and Safety Environment (QHSE) policies and practices and to ensure the work environment is healthy and safe.
EDUCATIONAL REQUIREMENT:
- Minimum five (5) CXC or O Level Equivalent Passes including English and Mathematics.
- Previous experience in retail, inventory management, wholesale, warehousing, or logistics preferred but not required.
- Ability to lift and move products of various sizes and weights.
- Proficient with computers and other standard office technology (Microsoft Excel & Word)
- Excellent, oral, and report writing skills.
- Strong analytical skills, attention to detail and good organizational skills.
