Secretariat Programme Manager
Project: After School CSEC Mathematics Tuition Project
Reports to: Vice President, Science & Technology, NIHERST
Salary: $24,000.00
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Oversee and manage data collection to identify student needs, skills gap, teacher instructional needs and resource requirements at targeted schools
- Collaborate with project team to finalize appropriate assessment tools and liaise with identified personnel at schools to gather qualitative and quantitate data
- Compile and analyse data to establish baseline for student performance and instructional needs and generate reports to aid in curriculum design and effective resource allocation
- Provide support to the Human Resource Unit to assist in the recruitment and selection process to engage suitable candidates to fill the positions of Tutors, Coordinators and ICT Technicians
- Active collaboration with Training Consultant to ensure delivery of customized hybrid training for adult learners targeting tutors, focusing on instructional strategies and curriculum delivery
- Collaborate with identified personnel at targeted schools, to finalize schedules for bi-weekly tutoring sessions, logistical arrangements and allocation of resources
- Monitor potential conflict that may disrupt operations and devise strategies to mitigate risk that may negatively impact deliverables
- Collaborate with Consultant in the design and execution of prioritized Life Skills Workshops targeting students; as well as interventions targeting parents/ guardians, to engender involvement and critical after school support.
- Develop a framework for continuous monitoring of student attendance, engagement and progress by engaging key stakeholders including learners utilizing bi-weekly evaluation forms to improve delivery and promote greater stakeholder engagement
- Provide operational supervision to Business Operations Assistants assigned to the Secretariat
QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE
- Bachelor's degree from an accredited university in Business Management, Business Administration or Project Management.
- Minimum of five (5) years’ experience working in an Administrative Lead position preferably in the Education Sector.
- Familiarity with CSEC Mathematics and instructional best practices.
- Strong organisational and administrative skills with experience in programme supervision.
- Certification in Education, Teaching or Remedial Education would be an asset.

- Strong administrative and project management skills
- Ability to motivate and inspire others to meet and exceed deliverables maintaining quality standards
- Effective written and verbal communication skills and ability to interact effectively with stakeholders in a productive manner.
- Strong leadership, conflict and dispute management skills
- Proven ability to manage, coordinate, and oversee multiple aspects of projects, including Close- Out reports
- Agility in resolving problems strong organizational and problem-solving skills to address challenges and ensure administrative problems to minimize disruptions in the delivery of programme
- Passionate about educational success and committed to improving CSEC Mathematics pass rates.
