ROLE AND CORE FUNCTION
The Group Senior Investment Banking Analyst has reponsibility for developing financial models, conducting valuations, and analyzing transactions for mergers, acquisitions, and capital raising. The role Provides recommendations on private equity, lending, and risk management while ensuring compliance with financial guidelines. The role provides support in deal origination, structuring, and client relations by conducting due diligence, preparing investment materials, and monitoring credit exposure.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Development of various types of financial models to value debt and equity for mergers, acquisitions, and capital raising transactions.
- Perform various valuation methods: comparable companies, precedents, and DCF.
- Develop recommendations for product offerings, private equity transactions, mergers and acquisitions, and valuations.
- Perform quantitative and qualitative analyses of transaction applications to determine credit- worthiness according to guidelines and sound principles of business lending.
- Conduct preparation and review of materials used in the financing of clients, including investment memoranda, management presentations and pitchbooks.
- Perform due diligence, research, analysis, and documentation of live transactions.
- Create presentations for client portfolios.
- Have an affinity for current events, critical issues, and relevant news.
- Constantly review the exposure limits, making recommendations to address any potential deterioration in exposure, and recommend opportunities to grow revenues.
- Conduct ongoing reviews of all exposures under management to ensure compliance with agreed terms, especially ensuring that annual reviews/assessments are completed on time.
- Review impaired and past due facilities and propose recommendations for resolution as appropriate.
- Support the Origination, Structuring and Distribution Teams in consistently delivering superior client experiences; the Product Development team in recommending innovative solutions in response to evolving client needs; and the institution in meeting its growth and profitability objectives.

RELEVANT SKILLS, KNOWLEDGE, AND EXPERIENCE
- CFA Level 1 or equivalent education, training and work-related experience.
- Bachelor’s Degrees (Analyst position) from a target school, or equivalent or Bachelor’s Degree in a business discipline such as Accounting, Finance Business Administration, or Banking.
- Three or more years of experience (Associate position) in a finance or business background, particularly on the quantitative side.
- Meticulous and attention to details while also being able to synthesize all variables (both financial and non-financial) into a cohesive whole, evidencing sound judgment.
- Proficiency in Data and Financial Statement Analysis and Financial Modelling, database management and spreadsheet analysis.
- Manages own time well, plans effectively, sets work priorities, and focuses on results.
- Working knowledge of deal structuring and closing principals.
- Strong communication and networking skills.
- Impeccable research, quantitative and analytical skills, especially in explaining market events.
- Proven proficiency in Microsoft Office products, especially Microsoft Excel and VBA.
