Sagicor Group Jamaica Limited is seeking a suitable candidate to join our Infrastructure & Technical Services team in the capacity of:

 

Workstation Administrator

 

Provide direct and indirect technical support to end users in facilitating the proper installation, configuration, maintenance and troubleshooting of equipment.

Provide technical support for the network and system administrators in respect of IT Systems of the organization, subsidiary companies and companies supported by the Sagicor Group.

 

Location: Kingston

 

As a Workstation Administrator, you will:

 

  • Manage workstations, multifunctional devices, pinning devices, telephony and small UPS portfolios.
  • Assist in the deployment of ABMs and point of sale terminals.
  • Identify and resolve client problems and concerns associated with office automation equipment, hardware and software.
    • Troubleshoot technical user problems with personal computers, applications and peripherals.
    • Implement solutions to solve or prevent user problems.
    • Maintain personal computers and peripherals.
  • Install computer applications.
    • Read software installation manuals and release notes.
    • Check for adequate resources.
    • Plan installation time and install the application using the given procedures.
    • Document flaws in the installation/ release notes.
  • Perform job enrichment tasks.
  • Uphold the company’s policy guidelines and recommend new and improved guidelines to ensure compatibility and better service to PC users.
  • Perform other job-related duties assigned from time to time.

 

What do you need?

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or equivalent qualifications from a recognized tertiary institution.
  • Computer Technician Certification/ Diploma or equivalent technical qualification would be an asset.
  • Minimum of two (2) years working experience supporting networked printers, workstations and PC applications.
  • A minimum of two (2) years practical experience in the support of Microsoft Windows Local Area Network (LAN) environment.
  • Professional certification: MSCA, CCNA or A+ would be an asset.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to understand network schematic drawings/ diagrams.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of the data processing and network operating environments.
  • A valid driver’s license and preferably an operational motor vehicle.
  • Ability to perform effectively under the following conditions: frequent travel offsite; lifting of computer equipment; on-call - on a rotation basis.
