INFORMATION TECHNOLOGY SYSTEMS ANALYST – SYSTEMS ADMINISTRATION
The successful candidate will be responsible for the security, integrity and availability of Petrojam’s applications, servers and user touch points. He/She will integrate, implement, maintain and enhance server infrastructure, operating systems, middleware and administer applications to meet the company’s objectives. Additionally, he/she will provide second level technical support by promptly addressing matters referred by the Service Desk.
The IT Systems Analyst Systems Administration ensures that the relevant standards and recommended best practices are adhered to in all system design, configuration and implementation.
Qualifications & Experience
- BSc. in Computer Science.
- CompTIA Security+ Training and Certification or equivalent.
- MCSE - Windows Server 2016/2019 and/ or MCSA - Windows Server 2016/2019.
- A minimum of three (3) years’ experience in computer network administration and cyber security.
- Experience with virtualization technologies (VMware vCenter).
- Experience with Veeam Backup and Replication, and Network Attached Storage (NAS).
- Experience with Microsoft Office 365 (Email, Azure, MS Teams, OneDrive, SharePoint).
- Experience with network device management is a plus.
Duties & Responsibilities
- Manages applications, application servers, and file server related projects.
- Manages all application servers and other server components including selection, installation, configuration and maintenance.
- Identifies fault trends, with a view to determine root causes and recommend appropriate solutions.
- Develops and maintain application and server security procedures.
- Defines systems administration policies and procedures.
- Grants and revoke approved access privileges for application and server users.
- Establishes systems’ hardware and software specifications by consulting with users, analyzing workflow, access, information, application and security requirements.
- Designs, documents and implements system backup, restoration and other disaster recovery policies and procedures.
- Plans and coordinates Disaster Recovery simulations.
- Develops server infrastructure by evaluating server and application performance issues including: availability, utilization, throughput, and latency
- Maintains the integrity of Petrojam’s network and server infrastructure facilitating high availability of Information Communications Technology (ICT) Services.
- Performs service continuity, capacity management, demand monitoring and security improvement of all systems.
- Monitors systems across Petrojam for critical warnings and/or failures and report on system availability.
- Monitors server infrastructure and interfaces for security threats and/or pending failures. 16. Ensure that the company’s anti-virus solutions offer optimal protection.
Competencies
• Demonstrated knowledge of windows desktop and server OS and Linux OS.
• Demonstrated knowledge Disaster Recovery and Business Continuity concepts
• Demonstrated mastery of standard systems management best practices.
• Proficiency with MS Office Suite, MS Project, Visio and Outlook.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
