Web Developer

We are seeking a skilled Web Developer & Administrator to design and maintain WordPress websites, optimize them for SEO, and manage e-commerce platforms like Shopify.

Key Responsibilities:

• Website Development & Maintenance:

• Design, develop, and maintain responsive WordPress websites, ensuring functionality, performance, and user experience meet high standards.

• Customize WordPress themes and plugins to align with business requirements and branding.

• Troubleshoot and resolve website issues, including bugs, performance bottlenecks, and compatibility problems.

• SEO Optimization:

• Implement on-page and technical SEO strategies to improve website visibility and ranking on search engines.

• Conduct keyword research, optimize content, and monitor performance using tools like Google Analytics, SEMrush, or Ahrefs.

• Ensure websites adhere to SEO best practices, including mobile optimization and fast load times.

• E-Commerce Administration:

• Manage and maintain e-commerce platforms, with a focus on Shopify, including product uploads, inventory management, and payment gateway integration.

• Administer backend systems for order processing, customer data, and shipping logistics.

• Collaborate with marketing teams to implement promotional campaigns, discounts, and landing pages.

• General Duties:

• Perform regular updates, backups, and security checks on websites and e-commerce platforms.

• Work closely with designers, content creators, and stakeholders to ensure projects are delivered on time and meet specifications.

• Stay updated on industry trends, tools, and technologies to recommend improvements.

• Travel to Guyana as needed to collaborate with teams, attend meetings, or oversee on-site project requirements.

Required Skills & Qualifications:

• Proven experience (2+ years) in web development, with a strong focus on WordPress site building and administration.

• Proficiency in HTML, CSS, JavaScript, and PHP; familiarity with WordPress theme and plugin development.

• Hands-on experience managing Shopify stores and other e-commerce platforms (e.g., WooCommerce).

• Solid understanding of SEO principles and tools (e.g., Yoast, Google Search Console).

• Familiarity with web hosting, domain management, and server administration.

• Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.

• Ability to work independently and manage multiple projects under tight deadlines.

• Willingness and ability to travel to Guyana as required (valid passport and flexibility for international travel).

Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience with graphic design tools (e.g., Adobe Photoshop, Figma) for minor edits or enhancements.

• Knowledge of additional CMS platforms or e-commerce systems (e.g., Magento, Squarespace).

• Certification in SEO, Google Analytics, or related fields.

• Understanding of UX/UI principles to enhance website usability.

Education:

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Web Development, or a related field.
