Warehouse Supervisor

Location:                     San Juan

Salary:                         TT$7,000.00 – $8,000.00

The Warehouse Supervisor develops, maintains and enforces guidelines, policies and procedures for the smooth and efficient operation of Warehouse duties.

 

Main Responsibilities:

  1. Strategically manage the warehouse in compliance with the Company’s policies and vision, with support from the Inventory Clerk and Senior Warehouse Attendant.
  2. Lay out the warehouse to ensure efficient space utilisation for both existing and incoming stock with support from the Inventory Clerk and Senior Warehouse Attendant.
  3. Plan and organise delivery schedules for installation, material returns and cleanups, communicating with the Installation/Project Manager.
  4. Plan, develop, and implement warehouse safety, security and daily activities with support of the Operations Manager/ Management Team.
  5. Plan, organise, and manage the duties of the subordinate staff to ensure work is accomplished in an efficient and consistent manner.
  6. Collaborate with other departments as needed to integrate logistics and business processes.
  7. Maintain staff development by coaching, counselling, disciplining employees, monitoring and conducting Performance appraisals with the Operations Manager/Management Team.
  8. Ensure subordinate staff conduct inventory checks and submit necessary reports to the Inventory Clerk and support him/her as needed.
  9. Oversee and ensure that all documentation for the dispatch, receipt and return of goods are done in an efficient and timely manner with the support of the subordinate staff and Inventory Clerk.
  10. Review ways to reduce wastage of material.
  11. Continuously review ways to increase efficiency, add value and motivate staff and warehouse processes.
  12. Create and implement warehouse practices that enhance efficiency and productivity.
  13. Ensure that all health and safety protocols are met and are to the required OSHA standards.
  14. Fill out incident report forms for incidents within the warehouse as required.
  15. Ensure that vehicles, machinery and equipment are well maintained and fit for use with support from the Operations Manager and Management Team.
  16. Ensure subordinate staff comply with health, safety, and environmental regulations within the company premises, to ensure the safety of the Company’s inventory, employees and themselves.
  17. Ensure the warehouse is kept in a clean and organised manner with the support of the Senior Warehouse Attendant and Inventory Clerk.

 

Skills and Attributes

  • Proven management skills with the ability to optimise team performance and development.
  • Highly developed interpersonal and communication skills coupled with their ability to negotiate and influence all levels of the business.
  • Ability to build, lead and motivate a skilled team to meet objectives and agreed targets.
  • Good IT skills, spreadsheet capabilities, database knowledge and warehouse experience.
  • Analytical and numerical capabilities.
  • Strong decision-making skills with accountability for the decisions made.
  • Excellent attention to detail skills for paperwork and all other aspects.

 

Qualifications and Experience

  • Minimum of (5) years running a warehouse.
  • Previous management experience with the ability to manage and motivate others.
  • Previous experience of inventory control and oversight.
  • Previous experience of job scheduling and goods delivery and returns.
  • A full comprehension of the requirements of running a warehouse, including the health, safety and security requirements, inclusive of dangerous goods handling and security.
  • Forklift licence may be an advantage.
