Warehouse Selector

Job Summary:   The Warehouse Selector is responsible for receiving goods into the Warehouse, replenishing locations with stock items and processing incoming orders from customers. This includes picking, packaging, labelling, verifying, invoicing and preloading orders. The incumbent will also be responsible for the accurate and efficient processing of returns.

 

Core Duties:

 

Receiving:

  • Offloads vehicles and containers with inbound shipments in a safe, efficient and timely manner.
  • Sorts and checks the goods received from inbound shipments to ensure that the contents match the information provided on the Supplier’s invoice, and that the quality of the products has not been compromised. This may include but is not limited to:
  • Weighing packages.
  • Counting all inventory to verify quantity of loose items.
  • Verifying accuracy of lot numbers and expiry dates.
  • Enters the required information regarding received items into the automated Warehouse Management System, including but not limited to, overages, shortages, damages, lot numbers and expiry dates.
  • Generates reports as required, including but not limited to reports on overages, shortages and damages.
  • Prints case labels and affixes same to all products that are received in support of an efficient picking process.
  • Follows appropriate procedures and policies in accordance with Good Distribution Practice when dealing with the receipt of cold storage items. This may include but is not limited to:
  • Opening the container to observe and record the temperature upon arrival.
  • Stopping the temperature recording device.
  • Quarantining goods which were not within the specified temperature range.
  • Executes put away commands by packing all received goods in the designated storage areas in keeping with safety policies and good distribution practice.
  • Picks and dispatches Government orders for delivery as guided.

 

Picking & Verifying:

  • Selects products from warehouse inventory as directed using the automated Warehouse Management System and the appropriate equipment including but not limited to RF guns and places these products in the containers provided to fill customer orders in a safe, accurate and timely manner.
  • Verifies the order being processed and prints the relevant label and invoice in preparation for preloading.
  • Packages, labels and places correctly picked customer orders into the relevant bond.
  • Manually picks goods from designated areas and processes invoices in preparation for dispatching as required.

 

Replenishment:

  • Completes replenishment commands on the RF gun, as guided by Warehouse Management and the relevant internal reports, in the designated storage areas and in keeping with safety policies and good distribution practice, to ensure that stock is available in forward pick locations.
  • Executes put away commands by ensuring all goods are in the designated storage areas.

 

Returns:

  • Processes paperwork and stock items that are returned to the Warehouse in a timely manner.
  • Processes documentation and stock from Delivery Contractors including but not limited to delivery logs and delivery requests for credit (DRFC) in a timely manner.
  • Checks returned goods to ensure that the contents match the information provided on the invoice, including lot number and expiry date, and keys in such information to generate the internal returned product report.
  • Enters the required information regarding products that are being replenished into the automated Warehouse Management System.
  • Keys in data and generates error reports by compiling information from returned invoices.
  • Ensures that antibiotics, controlled drugs and narcotics are collected on returned delivery.
  • Receives returned items back into stock via the WMS System.
  • Ensures requests for credit (RFCs) from customers are checked off for the processing of credits.

 

General Duties:

  • Reports any damaged or expired products to Warehouse Manager.
  • Pre-loads packages from the Delivery Bond with the Delivery Log in preparation for the dispatch process.
  • Restocks shelves to ensure a continuous supply of products.
  • Participates in mandatory good general housekeeping of the warehouse.
  • Replenishes or returns stock items to the forward pick location as required.
  • Assists with mandatory stock count exercises as required.
  • Supports the security of warehousing goods by acting with the highest level of trust and integrity in the handling process.
  • Operates in accordance with Good Distribution Practices.
  • Adheres to all Company policies and procedures, inclusive of but not limited to the Organization’s Guidelines on Business Conduct, the Company’s policy on health and safety, quality and standard operating procedures.
  • Undertakes other duties which may arise or may be delegated to support the objectives of the organisation.

Requirements:

 

Qualifications:

  • A minimum of five (5) CXC O ’Level passes (inclusive of English and Mathematics).

 

Additional Certification:

  • Police Certificate of Good Character.

 

Experience:

  • No previous experience required.

 

Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:

  • Good organizational skills
  • Good interpersonal skills.
  • Must be able to work in a fast-paced environment.
  • Detail oriented.
  • Good communication skills.
  • Must be able to take instruction well (oral and written).
  • Must be a team player
  • Manual dexterity.
  • Computer literacy would be an asset.

 

Personal Protective Equipment: 

  • Must wear all Personal Protective Equipment as established for the safe undertaking of this function.
