The Warehouse Coordinator is responsible for the efficient warehouse operations, including but not limited to receiving, inventory control, loading, and safety.
Responsibilities
• Set SMART objectives for the Warehouse Team.
• Conduct random spot checks within the warehouse and delivery checkpoint to ensure delivery team members adhere to delivery protocols.
• Assist with identifying and investigating any variances and provide a report on any damaged or aged inventory to the warehouse manager.
• Monitor the workload and reallocate and direct Warehouse Attendants to ensure timely customer deliveries.
• Inspect the warehouse to ensure items are stored and labelled properly.
• Organize the warehouse to ensure goods are delivered using the FIFO principle.
• Ensure all team members are in their PPE gear prior to entering the warehouse.
• Ensure the warehouse is in compliance with all health and safety standards and procedures.
• Participate in team building and brainstorming sessions conducted to improve camaraderie and operational efficiency in the warehouse.
• Verification of all goods picked by the various Team Leaders/departments.
• Ensure that the goods are picked in a timely manner.
• Confirming that the loads are safe and secure before commencing the journey.
• Ensure that damaged/unsaleable inventory are organized in an appropriate area.
• Be informed of and always use current operating procedures. Enforces operating instructions and safety policies.
• Ensure that the warehouse team is always wearing their protective gears
• Participate in perpetual inventory count under the directive of the Warehouse Manager
• Participate in random selection inventory counts of high volume/frequently/recently moved inventory items to compare system balance versus physical count.
• Ensure the Team Leaders organize inventory items and protect inventory from being damaged in their respective departments.
• Conducts performance evaluations that are timely and constructive
• Assist in distributing items not limited to equipment, uniforms, and supplies to the staff.
• Assist in audit trail regarding inventory stock.
• Assist inputting information regarding all items purchased for the business.
• Track and analyse data to provide recommendation for process improvement.
• Participating in continuous improvement initiatives as required.
• Ensure the Company’s timekeeping policies are being followed.
• Maintain professional conduct at all times.
Requirements Formal Education
• B.Sc in Logistics, Shipping and Supply Chain Management or related field from a recognized and accredited institution.
• Three (3) years’ experience in warehouse, logistics and supply chain management
• Excellent communication skills, both written and oral as well as proof reading skills.
• Specialized Training in Occupational Health and Safety.
• Highly organized and able to manage multiple tasks and projects simultaneously.
• Proficient in the use of Microsoft Office.
