The Warehouse Attendant is responsible for the efficient and accurate handling of inventory and non-inventory items within the warehouse.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

Receiving of Inventory and Non-Inventory Items

  • Verification: Verify items received against invoices or delivery notes, ensuring the correct quantity and condition.
  • Documentation: Ensure all documentation is accurate and properly filed, including invoices, purchase orders (POs), and delivery notes.
  • Filing: Maintain organized records of all warehouse and inventory documents.
  • Forwarding Documentation: Forward copies of documentation to relevant departments in a timely manner.

Issuing and Relieving of Inventory or Non-Inventory Items

  • Timely Issuance: Issue materials to production promptly and efficiently, ensuring no delays in the production process.
  • Distribution: Distribute all items received in the warehouse to the appropriate areas.
  • Documentation: Ensure that proper requisitions are received and filed for all issued items.
  • Material Handling: Handle materials carefully to prevent damage during transit to production areas.
  • Stock Rotation: Assist in the proper rotation of all inventoried items to ensure freshness and usability.
  • Space Utilization: Assist with the planning and utilization of warehouse space for optimal storage of all items.

Inventory Assistance

  • Daily Planning: Plan the daily work schedule for inventory issued to production, including material slitting and preparation.
  • Timesheets and Usage: Print and check off production employees’ timesheets for completed jobs and material usage daily.
  • Material Check: Ensure production machines have sufficient materials daily by checking the production schedule and preparing job tickets.
  • Liaison: Liaise with production staff to understand and meet their material needs, including changes in job requirements.
  • Roll Track Numbers: Ensure roll track numbers are applied to all roll materials issued by the warehouse.

 

Warehouse Assistance

  • Loading/Offloading: Assist in the loading and offloading of trucks and containers.
  • Forklift Operation: Operate the forklift as required for material movement.
  • Material Movement: Physically move materials to the production floor as needed.
  • Stock Counts: Assist in conducting monthly or as-needed stock counts, ensuring all roll stock is properly checked and accounted for.
  • Space Utilization: Ensure appropriate space utilization in warehouse areas.
  • Reorder Reporting: Report significantly low stock levels to management for reordering.
  • Material Slitting: Perform slitting of raw materials as required.
  • Must conform to all food safety regulations and processes during the performance of daily duties,

 

Required hands-on, technical or other types of training to perform the job:

  • Knowledge in warehouse lay-out design.
  • Knowledge of Loading and off-loading of containers.
  • Knowledge in material handling.
  • Knowledge of machine operations.
  • Knowledge of Stock rotation
  • Certificate or Diploma in Supply Chain
  • Forklift Certification will be considered an asset
