Underwriter (St. Maarten)

We are looking for an experienced insurance professional to join our team in St. Maarten as an Underwriter.

Best; this is the highest rating given to any insurance company in the Caribbean. We are committed to sound underwriting principles as we continue our expansion across the region. We are looking for an experienced insurance professional to join our team in St. Maarten as an Underwriter.

Key Responsibilities:

• Evaluate new and renewal account information to determine risk acceptability, terms, and conditions to be quoted, and pricing within company guidelines and underwriting authority.
• Complete due diligence for customers in line with the company’s risk and compliance requirements
• Contribute to the growth of premium income, report on underwriting results and respond as appropriate to trends, opportunities, and shortfalls and make sound recommendations to management.
• Achieve new business premium, renewal premium retention, and rate change objectives
• Process new transactions and monthly renewals within underwriting guidelines and update the physical file and the insurance system with all applicable information for the completeness of the policy.

 Qualifications & Experience:

• Certificate or Diploma in Insurance Preferred
• Minimum 2 years of underwriting experience in general insurance
