Within the context of the UN Reform, effective as of 1 January 2019, the Resident Coordinator is independent and his office supports the work of the Resident Coordinator as well as that of the UN Sub-regional Team by promoting articulation and coordination of Agencies, Funds and Programmes development activities to ensure coherence and an articulated response to countries’ national priorities and development challenges, in support of the attainment of the Sustainable Development Goals and other international commitments. The Multi-Country Sustainable Development Framework (MSDF) 2017-2021 serves as the framework for articulating the UN’s work in the region.
