JOB SUMMARY

Provides support to ensure optimum milling performance with strict adherence to Safe Quality Food (SQF) standards and practices and end product specifications, while meeting Customers’ requirements.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

• Assist with the pre-operation inspections of machinery and equipment and programming the operations of all plant sections.
• Works along with the Technical Miller or designate to start plant and adjust machines in accordance with the Standard Operating Procedure.
• Assist with the checking of Mill’s performance to ensure efficient operation.
• Provides support to operate cleaning house, blending out of raw wheat bins and adjusting equipment as necessary.
• Provides support to operate flour blending and transfer system; fills and monitors all ingredient feeders.
• Assist with operation of the bulk truck load-out and pelletizing systems.
• Assist the team with general repairs and maintenance on equipment and various systems, records findings in accordance with documented procedure.
• Works with the team to provide support to adjust the plant for the production and removal of specialty products.
• Assist with the programming and operation of all plant sections.
• Maintains the workplace and machinery in a hygienic state and prepares Mill for fumigation as required.
• Adheres to all Safe Quality Food (SQF) standards and practices.
• Adheres with the Occupational Safety and Health standards and Company’s safety guidelines and regulations.
• Interprets Mill Flow Diagrams in the execution of duties.
• All activities are to be carried out in accordance with the Company’s policies and procedures.
• Performs other related duties as may be required by the job function.

QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE

• At least one (1) year Flour Milling experience in a Fully Computerized Mill or experience with a manufacturing environment (desirable).
• Diploma in Flour Milling, Process Plant Operations, Mechanical Engineering, MEEET or similar qualification from a recognized institution.
• Certification in Food Safety would be considered an asset.
• Ability to interpret Mill Flow Diagrams.
• Knowledge of food safety standards and practices.

ESSENTIAL SKILLS/ ATTRIBUTES

• Detail oriented, self-motivated, ability to work with minimal supervision.
• Must be willing to work outside normal working hours.
• Good problem solving and trouble shooting skills.
• Working knowledge of Microsoft Office.
• Must have well-developed interpersonal skills with the ability to work effectively as part of a team.
• Knowledge of GMP, Food Safety and HACCP guidelines applicable to the Food Processing Industry.
• Excellent analytical, critical thinking and problem-solving skills with a keen eye for detail.
• Must possess integrity.
