Trade Development Supervisor

To drive growth in volume, revenue, and profitability within the assigned territory by developing existing accounts and securing new ones. This role is responsible for expanding market presence through the strategic selection, coaching, and training of the area sales team, ensuring that they effectively execute sales strategies and achieve their targets. Additionally, the Trade Development Supervisor ensures that their team follows the company’s established sales and distribution processes. The Supervisor also serves as the advocate for area customers within the company, ensuring their needs and feedback are accurately communicated and addressed to enhance customer satisfaction and loyalty.

 

  • Build and maintain strong relationships with both existing and new customers to achieve volume and profit targets.
  • Schedule and conduct regular customer visits to ensure consistent engagement and address any emerging issues.
  • Monitor credit accounts closely, following up promptly with customers to keep their accounts current.
  • Oversee the collection process for accounts receivable, facilitating timely payments.
  • Address and resolve any issues related to “Return” cheques promptly.
  • Cover sales routes in the absence of a salesman or driver to maintain uninterrupted service and support customer needs
  • Work with the team to create and execute plans to achieve sales development objectives.
  • Implement pricing strategies to maintain net price targets.
  • Maintain numeric distribution of SKUs across all assigned routes by regularly auditing and adjusting stock levels.
  • Set clear, consistent objectives aligned with company goals for each team member and monitor their progress.
  • Communicate pricing and promotional strategies clearly to the team and verify adherence through spot checks and follow-ups.
  • Conduct regular market visits to assess team execution of standards and provide immediate feedback for improvement.
  • Monitor market trends and adjust strategies to maintain competitiveness.
  • Adjust strategies to ensure volume and revenue targets are met.
  • Schedule and lead one-on-one sessions to discuss individual performance and development.
  • Regularly assess the capabilities of sales personnel and provide targeted feedback to support their development.
  • Actively follow up with team members to confirm daily reporting of KPIs and analyze the data for trends and insights.
  • Review and analyze progress against set objectives during weekly meetings, adjusting plans as needed.
  • Maintain detailed records of team productivity and ensure OTIF (On-Time, In-Full) reporting is consistently carried out.

Requirements:

  • Diploma in Sales, Business, Marketing or related field.
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Sales, Business, Marketing or related field would be considered an asset.
  • Valid Driver’s License
  • Must have your own vehicle in proper working condition 
  • A minimum of 3 years’ experience in sales and distribution in a similar industry.
  • At least 1 years’ experience in managing and developing the performance of support staff.
  • Knowledge of Trinidad & Tobago´s Geography and Road network would be considered an asset
