The Chief Technology Officer (CTO)

SUMMARY

The Chief Technology Officer (CTO) is responsible for exercising leadership and advising the Managing Director  and Board of Directors on the strategic use of information, communication and technology across  1st National Bank St. Lucia Limited (1NB). The CTO shall also be responsible for managing the daily operations of the Information Systems Department to ensure maximum system up-time and minimal disruption to business, consistent with the vision, mission and strategic priorities of 1NB.

CORE RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Develops and implements annual operational ICT plans and budgets for the Information Systems Department consistent with the vision, mission, and strategic priorities of 1NB.
  • Provides leadership in the development of relevant ICT policies and procedures.
  • Monitors systems use to ensure user compliance with legal, statutory, and regulatory requirements, and approved 1NB policies and procedures and conducts regular review of ICT policies and procedures.
  • Ensures the development and maintenance of database programmes to automate manual processes and improve/ enhance existing processes.
  • Provides quality assurance on all ICT services and support based on approved Service Level Agreements.
  • Ensures that the Department maintains suitable backup plans to protect the data of the Bank.
  • Monitors the performance of the Bank’s servers and documents to identify potential bottlenecks and issues.
  • Ensures adherence to banking/financial sector compliance beyond GDPR, HIPAA.
  • Ensures the provision of technical support to users, including customers who encounter operating system, application, and hardware problems. 

REQUIREMENTS

  • A minimum of a Bachelor’s Degree in Computer  Science, Engineering , Business or related field.
  • Minimum 10 years’ experience in IT Service Possess operational knowledge of WAN/LAN technologies including Windows server 2008 & 2012, Active Directory, Email Server Technology, MPLS/Network, Virtualization technologies VMware, Remote access, WAN acceleration, Telecom, VoIP, Internet, etc.
  • Experience managing small-mid data Centre operations.
  • Experience with Desktop support, and previous programming language
  • Management experience in an industry with 100+ users
  • Experience managing IT Operations for a remote user population
  • Possess senior technical expertise in systems administration, implementation, operations, and hands-on support of infrastructure (hardware, software, and OS)
