Performs a variety of professional teller services to our Cambio’s customers and accurately and efficiently completes customer transactions.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Provides professional teller services to customers by prompt acknowledgment of the customer, maintaining a friendly and courteous demeanor, ensures customer satisfaction on transaction requests and presents a professional image at all times.
  • Balance currency, coin, and cheques in cash drawers at end of day
  • Receive all currency cash for exchange, verify amounts, and check for authenticity.
  • Follows department policies and procedures, regulations and security procedures, completes necessary documents and maintain customer confidentiality.
  • Examine Money transfer forms, verify information such as names of receiver & sender, addresses and identification of the persons receiving payments and the legality of the identification tendered.
  • Enter customers' transactions into Customer Management System in order to record transactions and issue computer-generated receipts.
  • Count all currency, coins, and cheques received, by hand or using currency-counting machine, for deposit or shipment to other branches or banks.
  • Identify transaction mistakes when debits and credits do not balance.
  • Explain, promote, or sell all services such as Mobile top-up, Money transfers, Cambio, Bill payments and any other value-added service.
  • Perform clerical tasks such as cheque requisitions and lodgements.
  • Monitor vaults to ensure cash balances are correct.
  • Accurate Cash management
  • Inform customers about Bank of Jamaica regulations
  • Monitor all floor operations to ensure customer experience is excellent
  • Ensure prompt response in service delivery
  • Handle customer grievances in a timely manner
  • Ensure conformity to customer service programme
  • Ensure on-time opening of station/wicket
  • Daily monitoring of floor to ensure rate display is accurate, water cooler is functioning, cleanliness of lobby and security is always in place
  • Any other duty assigned.

SPECIFIC REQUIREMENTS

  • Diploma in Business Administration, Finance or equivalent discipline or pursuing BSc.
  • Minimum of one-year cash handling experience.
  • Excellent customer service and communication skills.
  • Detail oriented.
  • Conflict resolution skills.
  • Work a flexible schedule including Saturdays.
  • Ability to effectively access and interpret information on computer screens, documents, reports and cash denominations.
  • Ability to efficiently operate a PC, calculator, telephone, multifunction printer, and other office equipment.

PREFERRED REQUIREMENTS

  • Prior teller experience.
  • Basic accounting skills related to debits and credits.
  • Experience with teller machine.
  • Ability to work independently and as a team with excellent time management skills.
  • Knowledge of personal computer and related word processing and spreadsheet software.
  • Knowledge of various compliance regulatory requirements (AML, CFT etc.)
