The Telecommunications Authority of Trinidad and Tobago is an independent regulatory body, established by the Telecommunications Act 2001 and an act to amend the Telecommunications Act, 2001, with responsibility for the liberalization and regulation of the telecommunications and broadcasting sectors. The Authority became operational on 5 th July 2004.
To provide technical and administrative support to the Technology and Engineering Division by processing licensing applications and equipment standardization and certification, monitoring radio frequencies and conducting technical inspections of operator facilities.
