Technical Sales Representative

Are you a results-driven professional with experience in sales and a strong background in engineering or construction products? SCL (Jamaica) Ltd., located in Kingston, Jamaica is seeking a Technical Sales Representative to identify new business opportunities, build strong customer relationships, and drive sales growth in the engineering and construction sector.

Key Responsibilities

Sales & Business Development

  • Identify and pursue new business opportunities in the engineering and construction sectors.
  • Develop and maintain relationships with existing clients to ensure customer loyalty and repeat business.
  • Conduct market research to assess potential clients' needs.
  • Present and demonstrate the value of our engineering and construction solutions.
  • Prepare and deliver sales presentations and proposals to clients.

Customer Relationship Management

  • Provide technical support and advice to clients on product selection.
  • Address customer inquiries, concerns, and complaints promptly and professionally.
  • Ensure customer satisfaction through regular follow-ups and by addressing feedback.

Sales Planning & Strategy

  • Achieve assigned sales targets.
  • Develop and implement effective sales strategies to increase revenue.
  • Monitor and analyze sales performance and adjust strategies accordingly.
  • Collaborate with the sales team to share market insights and best practices.

Reporting & Documentation

  • Maintain accurate records of sales activities, customer interactions, and transactions.
  • Submit weekly sales reports every Monday or the next working day if Monday is a holiday.
  • Stay updated on industry trends, market conditions, and competitor activities.

Qualifications & Experience

  • Minimum five (5) CXC subjects, including Mathematics and English Language.
  • Diploma in Engineering, Construction Management, Business Administration, or a related field (technical background in engineering or construction preferred).
  • 3-5 years of sales experience in the engineering and construction products industry or a related field.
  • Proven track record of achieving sales targets, developing a sales pipeline, and driving business growth.

Skills & Competencies

  • Strong technical understanding of engineering and construction products.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Strong negotiation and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to build and maintain strong client relationships.
  • Self-motivated, goal-oriented, and able to work independently or as part of a team.
  • Detail-oriented with strong follow-up skills.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook).
  • Strong time management and organizational skills.
  • Excellent customer service skills.
  • Ability to travel island-wide and overseas as required.

Additional Requirements

  • A fully functioning motor vehicle is required for this role.
