We’re looking for a Sustainability Analyst to join our team and help shape a greener, more responsible future. In this role, you’ll analyze environmental, social, and governance (ESG) data, develop sustainable strategies, and support initiatives that drive meaningful change.
JOB OVERVIEW:
The Sustainability Analyst at Guardian Group plays a critical role in advancing our commitment to environmental, social and governance (ESG) and sustainability principles across the Group. This role entails preparing relevant sustainability reports, conducting in-depth research, analyzing ESG data, evaluating opportunities and risks and developing insights to support sustainable decision-making and ensure compliance. The Sustainability Analyst also collaborates with both internal and external stakeholders to allow for alignment between our corporate practices and global frameworks and standards. The incumbent will be required to work with Business Units and Departments across Group territories, providing support in driving sustainability-related projects and initiatives in line with the Group’s sustainability strategy.
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Sustainability Reporting and Disclosure:
Prepare and manage sustainability reports in accordance with industry standards and regulatory requirements e.g. SASB, IFRS S1 and S2, CSRD. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to collect and validate data, ensuring the accuracy and integrity of disclosures and support ESG and sustainability assurance and audit process as and when required.
• Research and Analysis:
Conduct in-depth research on sustainability trends, emerging issues, and best practices within across relevant sectors. Analyze data to identify potential risks and opportunities, providing actionable insights to inform business strategies.
• Data Management and Analytics:
Support the development and maintenance of robust ESG data management systems. Perform quantitative and qualitative analyses to identify and track key performance metrics and support continuous improvement initiatives. This may require partnering with other data analytic teams within the Group.
• Policy Development and Implementation:
Assist in the creation and execution of ESG policies and procedures. Ensure alignment with the company's objectives and regulatory expectations, promoting sustainable practices across all operations.
• Stakeholder Communication:
Prepare presentations, reports, and other communication materials to convey ESG strategies and performance to stakeholders, including investors, clients, and regulatory bodies. Lead initiatives aimed at driving ESG sensitisation, training and adoption across the Group.
• Project Management & Co-ordination:
Support the project management and co-ordination of ESG initiatives and projects including, ESG materiality assessments and stakeholder engagement initiatives and handle other projects and duties as assigned. The role also includes participation in relevant ESG Committees and cross-functional teams.
PRIMARY OBJECTIVES:
• Strengthen Sustainability Reporting: Assist with the development of relevant Sustainability/ESG reports and identify opportunities for strengthened reporting in line with regulatory requirements and stakeholder expectations.
• Ensure Regulatory Compliance: Maintain up-to-date knowledge of sustainability regulations and ensure the Group's practices and reporting meet or exceed these standards.
• Support Strategic Decision-Making: Gather and analyse ESG data to provide data-driven insights and recommendations to management on ESG-related matters, strategies and sustainability initiatives across the Group.
EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE:
o Bachelor's degree in Sustainability, Environmental Sciences, Business, Finance, or related field.
o Minimum of 5 years working experience, at least 2 of which should be in the field of ESG, sustainability reporting or a similar role.
o Knowledge and understanding of ESG frameworks, standards, and regulations
o Proficiency in data analysis tools and software, with the ability to interpret complex datasets.
o Excellent research skills, with the capability to synthesize information from diverse sources.
o Effective communication skills, both written and verbal, with experience presenting to key stakeholder groups.
o Detail-oriented with strong project management and co-ordination skills
o Strong proficiency in Word, Excel and PowerPoint
