Surveying Technician

Job Summary We are seeking a detail-oriented and motivated Surveying Technician to join our team. As a Surveying Technician, you will play a crucial role in supporting surveying projects by assisting with data collection, analysis, and documentation.

Principal Responsibilities

• Conduct field surveys using a variety of equipment such as total stations, GPS receivers, and digital levels.
• Set up surveying instruments and equipment accurately according to project specifications.
• Take precise measurements and record data points using surveying instruments and software.
• Assist in conducting boundary and topographic surveys to determine property lines, elevations, contours, and other relevant features.
• Support construction staking activities by assisting in the layout of structures, roads, utilities, and other construction elements.
• Assist in processing and analyzing survey data using computer software such as AutoCAD, GIS, and surveying-specific software.
• Prepare accurate field notes, sketches, and reports detailing survey findings and procedures.
• Ensure the accuracy and reliability of survey data through thorough checks and verification procedures.

EDUCATION/SKILLS AND ABILITIES

• Associate degree or technical certificate in surveying, civil engineering, or a related field. Relevant work experience may be considered in lieu of formal education.
• Previous experience in surveying or a related field is preferred but not required. Willing to train motivated individuals.
• Holder of a valid driver’s licence
