Our client is a leading pharmaceutical distribution company which represents a wide range of Pharmaceutical, Healthcare, Diagnostic, Dental and Medical Equipment ranges, which are supplied by major pharmaceutical houses internationally renowned.

Job Summary:

The general purpose of this role is to oversee and coordinate all aspects of the supply chain process. This role ensures efficient operations and cost-effectiveness while maintaining quality standards. The supervisor is responsible for developing and implementing supply chain strategies, managing vendor relationships, optimizing inventory levels, and coordinating with other departments. The Supply Chain Supervisor analyzes data to forecast demand, mitigate risks, and drive continuous improvement in supply chain processes to meet business goals.

Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Prepare worksheets and purchase orders to estimate and fulfil product demand.
  • Prepare and manage all documents related to shipments such as duty-free certificates, therapeutic, import and psychotropic licenses and all applicable legal documentation relative to imports and export.
  • Analyze sales forecasts, market trends, and customer demand to anticipate future supply needs and adjust production and inventory plans accordingly.
  • Coordinate & track all inbound and outbound shipments maximizing cost-effectiveness.
  • Source and negotiate contracts with suppliers, ensuring quality and cost-effectiveness. Build and maintain strong vendor relationships to ensure reliable supply chains.
  • Negotiate rates with carriers ensuring that you secure the best possible rates in line with the company’s buying policy.
  • Ensure that all monthly reports such as Stock & Sales, ICMs and Goods In Transit Reports are accurately completed and sent timely to the relevant parties.
  • Tracking of purchase orders and management of costing journals.
  • Develop and maintain good client relationships delivering outstanding customer service.
  • Prepare management reports and analyze statistical data.
  • Liaise with Customs broker regarding the clearance of incoming stock from ports of entry.
  • Verify Dispatch quantities and report on inaccuracies in shipments.
  • Design and execute supply chain strategies that align with organizational goals for efficiency, cost savings, and continuous improvement.
  • Identify and implement process improvements in the supply chain to enhance efficiency, reduce costs, and improve overall performance.
  • Ensure that supply chain operations comply with relevant regulations, safety standards, and company policies.
  • Develop and monitor the supply chain budget, managing costs effectively while maintaining operational efficiency.
  • Track and analyze key performance indicators (KPIs) such as lead times, inventory turnover, and on-time delivery rates, and provide regular reports to senior management.
  • Train, and mentor logistics team, fostering a culture of collaboration and continuous improvement within the team.

Desired Qualifications & Experience:

  • Minimum BSc. or relevant certification in Logistics/Supply Chain or a related discipline.
  • At least 3 years’ experience in a similar role.
  • Proficient with MS-Office.
  • Proven supervisory experience.
  • Excellent time management skills.
  • Available to commence employment November 2024.
