The Supervisor, Stores is responsible for the stores services support functions of the Department. This involves coordination and oversight of the stores facilities.
REQUIRED EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE/EXPERTISE:
ü NVQ Level 4 Certification or Associate Degree or the equivalent in disciplines such as: Marketing, Customer Service, Sales, Procurement, Communication Skills and Supervisory Management or equivalent
ü At least two (2) years relevant post qualification experience Supervisory role in a Retail Enterprise, Sales at a Farm/Feeds Store, Marketing and Sales Department of a Major Business Entity
KEY COMPETENCIES:
ü Excellent knowledge of Storekeeping practices
ü Excellent knowledge of goods distribution protocols
ü Highly effective Supervisory skills and techniques
ü Good knowledge of Stores/Inventory Management and Administration
ü Good knowledge of Supplies Management practices
ü Working knowledge of Government of Jamaica Procurement Policies and Procedures
KEY DUTIES:
ü Supervises the maintenance of an adequate store of materials and supplies
ü Provides information and documentation to the Manager, Administration for the procurement of goods and services for the offices
ü Prepares historic data of office supply usage for planning and forecasting supplies needs
ü Liaises with the Procurement Department regarding the purchase of goods and supplies
ü Establishes a mechanism to facilitate effective Supplies Management practices
ü Supervises the maintenance of an Inventory Management System for inventory of goods for the stores and distribution to the offices
ü Enforces storage rules and regulations to ensure the safety of goods and supplies
ü Monitors the delivery of goods leaving the Stores
ü Implements a system to ensure that goods received from Suppliers meet the required standards and are in accordance with purchase orders
ü Implements a system to ensure that the storeroom is organized according to storage principles to facilitate easy retrieval
ü Assists with development of policy and procedures; ensures compliance with same by staff
ü Communicates with vendors concerning timely delivery of items and payment of orders; and resolves problems associated with orders
ü Updates job knowledge by participating in educational opportunities; reading technical publications
