Stores Clerk

Salary Range - $5,000 to $6,000.

  • Receive customers and assist them with the selection of merchandise
  • Greet, interact and monitor customers to assist the store in loss prevention
  • Display and organize products in a store for the customers to locate easily
  • Help customers in billing and payment processes at the stores counter
  • Communicate information about product availability, nutritional information and ingredients
  • Maintain the outlook of the store through dusting, cleaning and restocking merchandise on the shelves
  • Handle record keeping and re-ordering systems
  • Help with preparation for displays, trade shows and windows
  • Receiving, unpacking, and stocking merchandise
  • Assisting with inventory management and restocking
  • Operating the cash register and handling financial transactions
  • Maintaining a clean and organized store environment
  • Providing product information and explaining how merchandise works
  • Making recommendations based on customers' needs and wants
  • Receiving and processing shipments of merchandise
  • Performing other duties as assigned by management
 

Requirements:

  • Should have knowledge in Electronic security: CCTV, access control, fire systems etc. (this would be ideal but not mandatory)
  • Five years or more of retail, cashing an inventory experience.
  • 5 CXC O’ Levels including Mathematics and English and A levels.
  • Ability to communicate effectively verbally and written.
  • Excellent customer relations and negotiation skills.
  • Ability to work independently.
  • Ability to process information/merchandise.
  • Ability to work varied hours/days including evenings and/or weekends.
