Job Title: Storeroom Clerk

 

Key Responsibilities:

1. Inventory Management:

   - Receive, inspect, and record incoming stock and materials.

   - Ensure proper labeling and storage of goods in an organized manner.

   - Conduct regular inventory audits to maintain accurate records.

   - Track inventory levels and notify management of low stock or excess inventory.

 

2. Order Fulfillment:

   - Process orders by retrieving and preparing items for delivery or pick-up.

   - Ensure orders are correctly packed and documented before dispatch.

   - Communicate with relevant departments regarding stock availability and order status.

 

3. Record Keeping:

   - Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of all incoming and outgoing inventory.

   - Use inventory management software or manual logs to record details such as item quantity, date of receipt, and location.

   - Prepare reports on inventory levels, discrepancies, and stock movements as required.

 

4. Stock Control:

   - Organize and rotate stock according to FIFO (First In, First Out) or other relevant methods to minimize waste.

   - Monitor stock conditions and report damaged or expired items to the supervisor.

   - Ensure storeroom cleanliness and adherence to safety standards.

 

5. Communication:

   - Liaise with suppliers, delivery personnel, and other departments to coordinate stock deliveries and returns.

   - Address any stock-related inquiries from internal teams.

 

6. Administrative Tasks:

   - Prepare purchase requisitions for replenishing stock as directed.

   - Assist in periodic stocktaking and cycle counts.

   - Generate and maintain shipping and receiving documentation.

 

Qualifications:

- High school diploma or equivalent.

- Previous experience in inventory management, warehousing, or a related field.

- Familiarity with inventory management systems or software.

- Strong organizational and time-management skills.

- Ability to lift heavy items and stand for extended periods.

- Good communication and teamwork skills.

  

Skills:

- Attention to detail.

- Basic math skills.

- Proficiency in MS Office (Excel, Word) and inventory software.

- Knowledge of safety and storage regulations.
