The Store Manager is tasked with managing the overall operation of the store, which includes directing the workforce, staffing decisions, ensuring customer satisfaction and product quality, managing the store’s financial performance, and managing safety and within the store.

Key Deliverables & Performance Indicators

Responsibilities and essential job functions include but are not limited to the following:

  1. Leadership- Setting goals for the work group, developing organizational capabilities and modelling how we work together. Displays a customer comes first attitude by training and holding partners accountable for delivering legendary customer service. Drives the implementation of company initiatives and motivating the store team to meet the company’s operational and organisational objectives. Plans, identifies, communicates and delegates appropriate responsibilities to store partners to ensure smooth operational flow. Provides coaching and direction to the store team. Constantly reviews store environment and key business indicators to identify problems and opportunities for improvement. Acts with integrity, honesty and knowledge that promote cultures, values and mission of the company.
  2. Planning and Execution- Developing strategic and operational plans for the work group, managing execution and measuring results. Monitors and manages store staffing levels to ensure partner development and talent acquisition to achieve and maintain store operational requirements. Communicates clearly, concisely and accurately in order to ensure effective store operations.
  3. Business Requirements- Solicits customer feedback and proactively researches local markets to understand customer and community needs. Uses all operational tools to plan for and achieve operational excellence in the store. Tools include, not limited to, Quarterly Business Review, Monthly Status Reports, Labour Scheduling and so on. Utilizes management tools and analyses financial reports to identify and address trends and issues in store performance. Utilizes external resources to support store operations from Partner Resources, Marketing, Facilities, Finance and others.
  4. Partner Development and Team Building- Providing partners with coaching, feedback and development opportunities and building effective teams: Actively manages store partners by conducting regular performance assessments, setting goals and plans to improve partner performance. Ensures partners adhere to legal and operational compliance requirements. Recognize and enforces individual and team accomplishments by using existing organizational tools. It is you duty to find new, creative and effective methods of recognition. Develops and maintains positive relationships with partners by understanding and addressing individual motivation, cultural nuances, needs and concerns.

Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

  1. Ability to manage store operations independently
  2. Knowledge of customer service techniques
  3. Knowledge of business acumen(producing and analysing weekly, monthly and annual reports)
  4. Strong leadership skills with the ability to coach and mentor others
  5. Ability to plan and prioritize workload
  6. Ability to handle sensitive and confidential information
  7. Knowledge for supervisory practices and procedures
  8. Interpersonal skills
  9. Ability to communicate effectively, clearly and concisely both orally and in writing
  10. Ability to manage effectively in a fast-paced and dynamic environment
  11. Ability to manage multiple situations at once
  12. Strong problem solving skills

Summary of Experience

  1. Progressively responsible retail experience – 3 years
  2. Supervision- 1 year
  3. Experience analysing financial reports

Minimum Qualifications – Education & Experience

  1. College degree (Associates, Diploma or Bachelors) in business or a closely related field may substitute for a portion of the required experience.
  2. High School Diploma
