Store Associate/Cashier

(i) To facilitate the company’s business by assisting store management to provide the best customer service possible; (ii) To ensure that the shelves are adequately stocked, prices visible for all items, and that the store maintains a clean and comfortable ambience at all times.

Principal responsibilities

These may include any or all of the below

• Punctuality regarding reporting for work
• Ensuring shelves are clean, inventory neatly and attractively merchandised, and pricing information is visible on shelf or item
• Alert manager/supervisor of required additional stock levels
• Have good product knowledge and be able to explain the use and/or operation of goods to the customer
• Ensuring store shopping and designated areas are clean (general housekeeping, removing debris or broken items, etc)
• Maintaining presence on the store floor
• Greeting all customers seen in a prompt, friendly and courteous manner
• Assisting customers with identifying where goods are located, prices, etc
• Assisting Customers with bagging of items purchased
• Assisting Customers where required with transporting heavy or bulky purchases to the customer’s vehicle
• Bringing to the attention of management any customer complaints that cannot be resolved at this level
• Complying fully with all company policies and procedures
• Being attired at all times in uniform and/or protective gear provided
• Safeguarding the company’s assets at all times, including bringing to the attention of management any irregular activities which may jeopardize the safety of persons at the location, the company’s assets or reputation
• Fully cooperating with all security personnel in the course of their legitimate duties or investigations
• Assist with inventory counts or stock-taking exercises as required
• Any other duties as may be assigned from time to time

 Minimum education and experience

• Three GCE or CXC O’ Levels including English Language and Mathematics
• 1 year’s working experience in a customer service environment
