The Staff Canteen Supervisors manage the operations of the Staff Canteen kitchen and help streamline the cooking and food preparation processes.

Responsibilities:

  • Supervise the daily operations of the staff canteen, including food preparation, service, and cleanliness.
  • The Canteen supervisor is ultimately responsible for ensuring that all meals go out on time and are prepared to the standards.
  • Plan and coordinate menus that meet the dietary needs and preferences of staff, considering seasonal ingredients and variety.
  • Ensure compliance with food safety and sanitation regulations, maintaining a clean and safe environment for food preparation and service.
  • Manage inventory of food supplies and kitchen equipment, placing orders as necessary to maintain stock levels.
  • Train, schedule, and supervise canteen staff, ensuring they adhere to company policies and standards.
  • Monitor food quality and presentation, ensuring meals are served in an appealing manner.
  • Address any staff concerns or feedback regarding menu options or canteen operations.
  • Collaborate with the culinary team to develop special meal events, theme days, or staff celebrations.
  • Maintain accurate records of food inventory, staff attendance, and canteen operations.
  • Conduct regular inspections of the canteen and kitchen areas to ensure cleanliness and safety standards are met.

Experience: Previous experience in a supervisory role within a food service or hospitality environment is preferred.

  • Strong knowledge of food preparation, cooking techniques, and safety regulations.
  • Excellent leadership and communication skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and work efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Flexibility to work varied shifts, including evenings and weekends, as needed.
