Social Worker – Montego Bay & Kingston
The Social Worker supports the programme development, with focus on varying alternative care and family strengthening settings in line with the organization’s guidelines.
Required qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree in Social Work or related field.
- Minimum of 3 years’ experience in the child, youth or family development field
Required knowledge and skills
- Wide knowledge of children, adolescence, youth and family protection laws
- Knowledge of Child Rights and Protection Act
- Working knowledge of techniques for crisis intervention of children, youth and families
- Experience working with youth in career planning and development
- Ability to coordinate community engagement activities
- Ability to develop project proposals or work plans
- Experience in applying case management procedures, including social work methods and practices in the work with children and families
- Good understanding of database management and monitoring and evaluation techniques
- Exposure to Trauma Informed Care Techniques
- Knowledge of administration and finance to include report writing, dealing with confidential information, record keeping and budgeting
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Applications
