We are a fast-moving medium-sized Distribution and Processing Company seeking to identify a suitably qualified individual for the position Senior Collection and Reconciliation Field Officer for our Kingston location:

Job Summary

The senior collections and reconciliation field officer is responsible for closely monitor the aging of payment receivable. Contacting clients to collect outstanding payments on delinquent accounts and guides the credit customers towards repayment as per agreed timeline to ensure that customers accounts are in good financial standing. 

Key Functions:

• Review credit applications
• Conduct credit checks and make recommendations for credit terms and limits
• Review accounts for adjusting credit limits
• Monitor the over 90 days past due delinquent accounts and ensure payments are made to clear total outstanding
• Reconcile customer accounts with a view to regularize/settle
• Negotiate, document, and arrange repayment schedules on severely delinquent accounts for Sales Representatives
• Issue letters of Demand as per instructions from Senior Management
• Prepare files for issuance of Summons and Court Actions
• Monitor and maintain all aspects of the Bad Debt portfolio and accounts requiring litigation
• Monitor collections of trade receivables as per court order
• Provide weekly and monthly reports and updates on over 90 days past due accounts to Credit Manager
• Conduct field visits to severely delinquent customers
• Provide collection support to assigned Sales Representatives ensuring collections are carried out in a timely and accurate manner
• Maintain frequent telephone contact with customers regarding questions concerning the status of their receivables.
• Prepare statements and correspondence for customers regarding the accounts receivable balances as required
• Assist with special projects
• Perform any other duties that may be assigned

Minimum Requirement & Competencies:

• Associate Degree in Accounting or Business Administration or equivalent
• Supervisory management training is an asset
• Strong knowledge of accounting is an asset.
• At least three (3) years of experience in Account Receivables or a similar position
• Computer literate, with sound knowledge in word processing, spreadsheets, and accounting packages
