 SITE RELIABILITY ENGINEER

Applications are invited from persons with suitable qualifications to fill the position of “Site Reliability Engineer” at Republic Bank Ltd.

The jobholder is responsible for maintaining and enhancing the stability, reliability, and efficiency of the organization’s multi-cloud platform. The SRE will work closely with various product teams and the platform team to ensure the platform's robustness and to contribute to the success of digital products.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE:

• Monitoring and maintaining the stability and reliability of the multi-cloud platform, identifying and resolving issues proactively.
• Developing and implementing automated solutions to address potential problems before they result in service impairment.
• Leading and participating in incident management, ensuring effective resolution of incidents and minimizing downtime.
• Conducting postmortem analyses to understand the root cause of incidents and recommend preventive measures.
• Monitoring platform performance and implementing tuning measures to ensure optimal performance.
• Developing and maintaining performance benchmarks and KPIs, collaborating with other teams to identify areas for improvement.
• Conducting capacity planning to manage the scale of the platform, ensuring it meets the current and future demands of product teams.
• Implementing scalability solutions, working with the platform team to ensure the platform can handle growth efficiently.
• Developing automation scripts and tools to streamline operational processes and enhance platform efficiency.
• Collaborating with the development and platform teams to implement CI/CD pipelines and other automation solutions.
• Documenting processes, incident reports and best practices for knowledge sharing and future reference.
• Mentoring and guiding other team members, fostering a culture of learning and collaboration.

GENERAL QUALIFICATION AND REQUIREMENTS:

The jobholder should have:

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field.
• 3+ years of experience working as a DevOps/SRE
• Proven experience as a Site Reliability Engineer, DevOps Engineer, or similar role.
• Strong knowledge of cloud platforms, particularly AWS and Azure.
• Proficiency in scripting languages such as Python, Shell, or Ruby.
• Familiarity with CI/CD tools, monitoring solutions, and infrastructure as code.

BEHAVIOURAL COMPETENCIES AND SKILLS:

• Strong problem-solving skills with an ability to quickly understand and troubleshoot complex issues.
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
