Shift Supervisor
The core responsibilities of the Shift Supervisor is to manage the daily cash flow of the Superior Gas Station location and ensure proper checks and balances in the handling of cash for the company. The Shift Supervisor is also responsible for supervising the Pump Attendants and Cleaner when necessary as they carry out their respective duties to ensure excellent customer service and company goals are met.
SPECIFIC DUTIES:
• Open and close premise at the beginning and end of each business day
• Switch gas pumps on, do readings of pumps, including dip tanks
• Record opening and closing volumes of fuel for each pump in books
• Set up equipment such as stools and fire extinguishers
• Check oil and petroleum product stock each shift
• Supervise Pump Attendants and Cleaner
• Handle cash/credit debit card transactions of customers
• Ensure customer rewards points are allocated to each regular customer and offer membership cards to new customers
• Perform pump attendant duties as the need arises
• Manage hub for cylinders sales by CWH dealers and Superior
• Periodically count cash in till and lodge into vault
• Maintain the petty cash float and ensure reconciliation and replenishment as necessary according to company policy and guidelines
• Calculate total sales at the end of each shift, record in books and enter into company computer system
• Balance all cash and/or cheque receipts at the end of shift and turn over receipts to the Gas Station Manager and/or Accounting Department daily
• Facilitate and assist with pick up of cash deposits in vault by security company
• Report all disciplinary issues of staff supervised and refer terminable offences to the Gas Station Manager
• Any other duties that may be assigned from time to time in accordance with company operations.
QUALIFICATIONS, SKILLS & EXPERIENCE:
• Diploma or Associate Degree in Business Administration or Management an asset
• At least two years’ prior experience as a Supervisor, preferably in the petroleum industry
• Extremely observant with a high degree of scrutiny and sensitivity to finance and accounting, especially in the handling of cash
• Highly accurate, meticulous and scrupulous with unquestionable honesty and integrity
• Trustworthy and possess the ability to command trust
• Good written and spoken communication skills
