Senior Technical Support Officer - VP Support Unit Investment & Linkages

 

Job Scope

  • To manage the development and coordination of the Division’s strategic projects being executed both locally and internationally.
  • To manage key industry/stakeholder relationships that span multiple sectors.
  • To manage the interface among the core departments in the execution of the division’s strategy
  • To manage the division’s key performance indicator metrics and work with sector teams to optimize achievement of results.
  • To oversee the execution of activations mandated by JAMPRO’s line Ministry, Board of Directors, or the President.  

 

Key Responsibilities

The Senior Technical Officer, VP Support Unit is expected to perform a range of duties to effectively support the Vice President’s leadership of the Investment and Linkages Division. These include but are not limited to the following:

  • Provide strategic support to the Vice President and the Investment and Linkages management team during the corporate planning process for the investment and linkage division.
  • Conceptualize strategic multi-sectoral promotional or linkage initiatives locally or overseas
  • Develop and implement strategic interventions to capitalise on investment and linkage opportunities
  • Directly target potential investors and buyers to encourage new or increased business with Jamaica;
  • Manage the client protocols including key account management, project forecasting and client reporting 
  • Pipeline management of investment opportunities and projects and linkage opportunities.
  • Facilitate the development of skills and techniques of the sales team
  • Create, maintain and update a repository of materials to ensure the division has the most up to date information on sectors, market insight, best practices, and FAQ’S.
  • Manage work plans, output and resources, including personnel and budgets.
  • Authorize necessary actions to avert or minimize risk or bottlenecks for projects within the division
  • Liaise with the Research and Opportunity Packaging Department to encourage division’s best synergies related to research tools, research jobs, available research material etc
  • Liaise with Policy and Business Reform to ensure the development of required policy interventions to advance a project or industry
  • Oversee the process of design and alignment of the Division’s operational plans, budgets and annual reports
  • Manage relationships with key private sector stakeholders and partners in support of the promotional strategies
  • Keep abreast of developments in local and foreign markets to guide the development of new services and strategic initiatives
  • Coordinate and manage post-event follow-ups and reporting for Divisional activities
  • Develop and monitor Divisional forecasts for key KPIs, flagging any lags in achievement for further action
  • Monitor and maintain sales cadence activities.
  • Prepare/review and submit for approval divisional reports as per deadlines.
  • Ensure efficiency of divisional activities.
  • Conceptualization of divisional efficiency methods
  • Conceptualize/implement divisional strategic projects.
  • Provide analysis of department performance for reporting and decision-making.
  • Manage the execution of the Investment and Linkages division’s tasks pursuant to Board of Directors or Executive Management Meetings.
  • Monitor investment and linkage related contact management interactions.
  • Encourage culture of proper use of Salesforce CRM.
  • Coordinate the development and monitoring of the divisional budgets as a part of the Agency’s corporate plan and budget, including oversight of required procurement activities
  • Prepare monthly and other ad-hoc reports as required for submission to Board, President and other stakeholders.
  • Represent JAMPRO at local and international client or stakeholder meetings and other fora.
  • Perform other related functions as assigned by the Vice President or President.

 

 

Qualifications, Experience and Key Competencies

  • Graduate degree in Marketing, Management Studies, Business Administration, International Relations, Economics or equivalent qualification/training or bachelor’s in related discipline with proven years of experience
  • Training and experience in project management and analysis.
  • At least five (5) year’s work experience in sales, business development, marketing or the related sector
