Position Title: Senior Technical Sales Representative

Division/Department: Sales

Location:  17 Carvalho Drive Kingston 10

Reports to: Paula Cross Title: CEO

Pay Rate: Monthly

Probationary Period: (3 months)

Performance Review Date: 2 weeks after

My duties and responsibilities in this position are:

  1. Service existing accounts, obtains orders, and establish new accounts by planning and organizing daily work schedules to explore existing or potential sales opportunities.
  2. Conduct sales presentations based on sales opportunities.
  3. Focus sales efforts by analyzing customer demand and potential demand in related markets sectors.
  4. Submit documents for orders.
  5. Keep management informed by submitting activity and results reports, such as daily call reports, weekly work plans and monthly and annual sales analyses.
  6. Monitor competition by gathering current marketplace information on pricing, new products, delivery schedules, merchandising techniques, etc.
  7. Recommend changes in products, service, and policy by evaluating results and competitive developments.
  8. Resolve customer complaints by investigating problems; developing solutions; preparing reports; making recommendations to management.
  9. Maintain professional and technical knowledge by attending educational workshops; reviewing professional publications; establishing personal networks; participating in professional societies.
  10. Provide historical records by maintaining records on customer sales.
  11. Contribute to team effort to ensure targets are met.
  12. Determine the customer's needs, provide complete and appropriate solutions to achieve sales goal and maximize customer satisfaction.
  13. Help to identify innovative ideas to improve the company’s processes and performance.
  14. Assist in maintaining a clean and orderly office environment.
  15. Follow all company procedures and policies.
  16. Execute all transactions quickly and accurately.
  17. Communicate positively with team members and customers.
  18. Effectively utilize company resources.
  19. Recommend appropriate solutions that meet the customer's needs, and emphasize the key selling features and benefits of the solutions.
  20. Providing information on the benefits and uses of a variety of accessories.
  21. Be knowledgeable and confident to answer customer’s questions.
  22. Provide accurate quotations in a timely manner.
  23. Possess excellent communication, time management, customer service and networking skills.
  24. Be able to handle multiple customers and be persuasive.
  25. Any other duties assigned.

I will achieve the following results in this position:

  1. Sales revenue of TBD per annum.
  2. New customer acquisition – TBD per month.
  3. Customer satisfaction at 98% as per survey results.
  4. Make three sales presentations to prospective/present customers per month.
  5. Make at least 15 calls per day.
  6. Do at least 4 site visits per week.

I will meet these standards while working in this position:

  1. Deal pipeline to be completed and submitted by Monday at 2pm each week.
  2. Telephone calls to be answered within 3 rings.
  3. Customer quotation to be responded to within 48 hours.
  4.  Present weekly call reports every Friday at 4pm.
  5. Sales team to make presentation on product and service once per month.
  6. Be at work for 8:30am.
  7. Adhere to the core values of PowerTech.

  9. Always attend sales, planning and general staff meeting.

I have the following experience which is needed for this position:

  • At least 5 years Sales and Customer Service experience in a technical area preferably in Power &/or UPS sales
  • Closing deals and meeting sales goals
  • Management of customer accounts
  • Prospecting for new business and developing client relationships
  • Negotiation
  • Making presentations
  • Spread sheet and word processing software
  • Internet literacy
  • Communicating with a wide cross section of persons within the work environment.

 I will meet these other/special requirements for this position:

  • Diploma or Bachelor in marketing or business management.
  • Exposure to or formal qualifications in a technical area preferably one related to Uninterruptible Power Supply (UPS) systems.
  • Own a reliable motor vehicle.
