Senior Structural Engineer  to complete and review analysis and design calculations; execute and manage the preparation of drawings and specifications; assist with mentoring of junior staff; technicians; interact with clients; attend project meetings and conduct onsite inspections for ongoing works.

Job description and responsibilities:

• Focus on structural analysis and design, investigations and renovations of all buildings.
• Implement design or analysis tasks in accordance with ACI or British Standards.
• Manage design work.
• Prepare calculations, specifications, and perform construction administration tasks.
• Supervise work of other engineers and CAD technicians. Support work tasks in a team environment and help mentor and develop less experienced engineers.
• Assist with proposal preparation and contract reviews under the supervision of Principals.

Requirements:

• Minimum of 6-7 years’ experience in structural engineering, including structural design, and condition assessments and remedial works design.  Proficiency with behavior and performance of reinforced concrete, structural steel and masonry.
• First Degree in Civil or Structural Engineering from an accredited University (M.Sc would be an asset).
• Written and spoken proficiency in English.
• Proficient in writing and editing of technical reports and project specifications.
• Strong written and oral communication skills.
• Demonstrated ability to meet deadlines.
• Ability to work in a team environment.
• Proficient in the use of structural analysis and design software.
• Ability to work in and review work in AutoCAD.
• Proficient in the use of Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and other Office suite software.
