The Children's Authority of Trinidad and Tobago is a specialized agency with the responsibility for the care and protection of children, especially those who are at risk or have been victims of abuse or neglect.

The Children's Authority of Trinidad and Tobago is seeking to recruit for the role of Senior Specialist, Corporate Communications, on contract.

The Senior Specialist, Corporate Communications plays a pivotal role in managing and executing strategic communications initiatives for the Children’s Authority of Trinidad and Tobago. This position is responsible for developing and implementing comprehensive communication plans, ensuring alignment with organizational objectives, and maintaining consistent messaging across various channels. The Senior Specialist will collaborate closely with senior management and stakeholders to enhance the Authority’s public image and support its mission through effective communication strategies.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Communications, Public Relations, Marketing, or related field.
  • Certification in Digital Technology or Social Media Management
  • Four (4) to six (6)  years of experience in corporate communications, public relations, or a related role.
  • Experience managing media relations and crisis communications.

Principal Accountabilities/ Key Functions:

  • Develop and implement strategic communication plans that align with the Authority’s objectives and enhance its public image.

  • Craft compelling content for media releases, speeches, presentations, and other communication materials.
  • Manage media relations, including handling inquiries, arranging interviews, and proactively pitching stories to enhance media coverage.
  • Oversee digital communication channels, including the Authority’s website and social media platforms, ensuring content is engaging, accurate, and timely.
  • Collaborate with internal teams to ensure consistency in messaging and alignment with organizational goals.
  • Monitor media coverage and public sentiment to identify potential issues and develop appropriate responses.
  • Organize and coordinate public events, media conferences, and other promotional activities.
  • Provide communications support during crisis situations and manage reputation risk effectively.
  • Conduct research and analyze data to evaluate the effectiveness of communication strategies and recommend improvements.
  • Stay updated on industry trends and best practices in corporate communications to continuously enhance strategies.
  • Perform any other duties as may be required to successfully achieve this job function.
