Salary Range: CI$70,224 – CI$94,440
(US$85,639 - US$115,170)
The Computer Services Department has an exciting opportunity for a Senior Applications Architect to join the Cayman Islands Government and become a vital member of a highly collaborative team “To make the lives of those we serve better”.
The Computer Services Departments Senior Applications Architect will work in a team of Information Technology professionals who are responsible for designing, developing, testing, modifying and evaluating new and existing software projects that improve and enhance efficiencies of the Cayman Islands Government (CIG) Departments’ business activities within agreed parameters of cost, timescales, and quality. The post-holder’s primary objectives are to provide effective leadership and advice in respect to assessing and choosing modern and robust technology solutions required to facilitate the CIG Departments business systems and software plans.
The post holder must possess:
- A post-secondary degree/diploma in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field. OR
- A Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or Information Management plus a minimum of seven (7) years post-graduate experience in information systems; OR
- An Associate’s degree in Computer Science or Information Management plus a minimum of ten (10) years’ post-graduate experience in information systems; OR
- More mature entrants with thirteen (13) years of relevant architectural/advanced IT experience and related post-high school education, if aptitude for systems architecture work is evident.
Strong development background with at least 3 years of sound architecture experience. The post-holder is also required to have experience in multiple programming languages, CI/CD toolsets, OO design patterns, web services, messaging and event driven architectures. The post holder is expected to have knowledge or experience of DevOps working practices with experience of Cloud Native delivery being advantageous.
The post-holder needs to be equipped with a wide range of experience in designing strategic solutions and architectural models for the Government Departments’ business systems. The Candidate should also have in-depth experience in requirements gathering/analysis, designing and implementing information solutions and data and analytics management programmes.
Ability to assess rapidly changing technologies and apply them to business needs; strong communication and persuasion skills, including the ability to create marketing and messaging materials that meet stakeholder preferences; and the ability to analyse project and portfolio needs as well as to determine the resources needed to achieve objectives and overcome cross-functional barriers.
Benefits will be determined by the Public Service Management Law and Regulations and Personnel Regulations the Public Service Pensions Law and the CINICO Health Plan.
