CAREER OPPORTUNITY 

Hardware & Lumber Ltd., a Jamaican company retailing and wholesaling building materials, home improvement supplies, household items and agricultural products, invites internal applications from suitably qualified family members for the position of:

 SENIOR RISK & COMPLIANCE OFFICER

Purpose

To identify and assist in mitigating risk factors as it relates to the organization’s assets. To guide the coordination, organization, monitoring of inventory counts, provide analysis, and where applicable recommend improvements to internal controls. 

Principal Responsibilities

  • Plan and manage activities for successful inventory counts,
  • Validation of damaged items,
  • Perform compliance audits,
  • Track and report on implementation of audit recommendations,
  • Ensure that all processes are executed within approved company policies and procedures,
  • Provide timely analysis and feedback to stakeholders.

  • Solutions oriented with excellent interpersonal and communication skills, and open to constructive feedback,
  • High level of personal integrity, initiative and organizational skills,
  • Ability to work independently and deliver timely results with minimal supervision,
  • Strong report writing skills, with the ability to effectively document complete information,
  • Intermediate proficiency in Microsoft Excel.

Minimum Education, Knowledge & Experience

  • First Degree in Business Administration or related field, preferably with a focus on accounting,
  • Knowledge of activities involved in executing audit activities,
  • Three (3) years’ experience working in an inventory control environment,
  • At least two years’ accounting experience is desirable.

Applicants must own and operate a reliable motor vehicle, and

preferably reside within St. Catherine or Kingston & St. Andrew.
