Senior Mortgage Officer

STAFF VACANCY

 

Interested persons are invited to apply for the position of Senior Mortgage Officer within Branch Operations Unit [Tobago Branch] of the Mortgage Services Department.

 

Job Purpose

To assist the Line Manager with the administration of the Branch Office and with implementation of operational and other departmental plans.  To interview loan applicants, recommend and approve loan applications in accordance with the company’s policies and procedures.  Follow approved transactions until registration on the company’s mortgage records.

 

Responsibilities

  • Administration of the day-to-day operations of the Branch including:
    • Teller transactions, physical opening and closing of the branch to ensure timely service is available to customers and manages the office Petty Cash
    • Provides guidance to Mortgage Officers, Mortgage Assistants and Customer Service Representatives as needed
    • Distributes sectional work assignments so as to ensure the maintenance of the highest levels of efficiency and productivity
    • Liaising with external suppliers in the provision of services for the branch
    • Interviews applicants for new mortgage loans, reschedules, second mortgages, assignment of interest and arrangements for arrears settlement
    • Reviews reports and statistics on departmental operations to determine strategies going forward to achieve performance targets and improvements in systems and procedures
    • Monitors the progress of loan transactions to ensure the timely finalization of all applications
    • Ensures that good relations are maintained and developed with external agencies to promote smooth and efficient delivery of service to our mutual customers
    • Ensures consistent and timely communication to staff regarding changes in policies, procedures, and guidelines
    • Prepares reports and statistics as required
    • Other duties and responsibilities which are incidental or consequential to the above and which may be assigned by the Head of Department or representative from time to time including Approval of loan applications, ensuring adherence to policies, procedures, and guidelines of TTMF as well as of the Government

 

Job Skills

  • Ability to perform credit risk analysis in assessing mortgage loan application
  • Knowledge of Company’s business, products and the competitive framework of the industry
  • Knowledge of sales, marketing, customer service & debt recovery processes, including business solicitation
  • Ability to manage and administer the operations of a unit and its staff
  • Committed to providing the highest quality in products and services, and customer service delivery
  • Readily adjust to multiple demands, shifting priorities and rapid change
  • Ability to actively build relationships with staff, colleagues, managers, customers and external agencies
  • Ability to communicate goals, objectives & ideas clearly & consistently using a broad range of media
  • Ability to provide high quality leadership to ensure the departments targets are achieved
  • Ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing

 

Minimum Requirements

  • Undergraduate degree in Business Administration
  • Certification in Credit Management/Credit Analysis Techniques
  • Two (2) or more years’ supervisory experience in a credit position
  • Computer Proficient with working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite of business products.
