The Senior Manager - Strategy Management and Special Projects will manage the ongoing strategy formulation and execution processes for the Jamaica National Group by providing direct support to the Group CEO in the effective planning and deployment of strategic priorities and initiatives.

The Opportunity
Reporting to the Group Chief Executive Officer, the Senior Manager - Strategy Management and Special Projects will manage the ongoing strategy formulation and execution processes for the Jamaica National Group by providing direct support to the Group CEO in the effective planning and deployment of strategic priorities and initiatives. The incumbent manages the annual strategic planning process, monitors the Group’s strategic priorities and supports the execution of local and international expansion opportunities. Using the Balance Scorecard framework the incumbent is responsible for conducting timely and ongoing analysis of the Group’s performance against targets and providing information, analysis, and recommendations to the Group, Company, and Divisional heads on the achievement of business targets.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Strategy Management
- Work closely with the Group CEO to set and drive the execution of key strategic initiatives for the Group and lead the development of the Group’s Strategic Plan using the Balanced Scorecard Methodology.
- Work with the Group CEO and executive team to develop, evaluate and execute plans for JNG's growth initiatives.
- Lead the preparation and submission of the Group's Annual Strategic Plan, ensuring alignment across the Group.
- Lead the cascading of corporate and company scorecards, ensuring that all strategies and scorecards are aligned with the JN Group scorecard.
- Facilitate executive forums and meetings, including planning agendas as well defining content.
- Communicate the JN Group strategic goals to all relevant parties.
- Develop and manage the mechanisms for monitoring and reporting on strategy, key initiatives, and Balance Scorecard execution for the JN Group.
- Conduct timely and ongoing monitoring of the companies’ performance against targets and provide information, analysis, and recommendations to the CEO, Managing Directors, General Managers, and senior management team.
- Assist in monitoring and facilitating adjustments of companies’ strategic plans based on results of monthly/periodic reviews of company performance as well as changes in the industry and environment.
- Review company performance management reports, including Balance Scorecard metrics and analyses, as well as other financial analyses and reports, and provide recommendations to the CEO, Managing Directors, and General Managers.
- Prepare company performance management reports, including Balance Scorecard metrics and analyses, as well as other financial analyses and reports for relevant people as the need arises.
- Support the CEO, Managing Directors, and General Managers in communicating to the JNG Group the Strategic Plan, Balance Scorecard measures and targets, as well as performance against scorecards.
- Identify and prioritize the business processes which are being directly impacted as well as those which should be improved; during the development, review, and management processes of the organization’s strategic plans.
- Assist with providing training and mentoring to relevant people in various departments on topics and techniques of strategy.
- Provide strategic management support to JN Group companies, including:
- Facilitation of strategic planning retreats.
- Overseeing strategy-related activities to include third-party engagements.
- Reviewing management and board reports to identify gaps and opportunities.
Project Management
- Develop project management plans and charters and estimate project scope, quality, time, cost and risk considerations.
- Clearly define project teams roles and responsibilities, secure project resources and anchor ownership of deliverables with Resource Managers.
- Responsible for appointing project stream leads to ensure adequate support for all the projects under his or her purview.
- Responsible for the management and communication of project scope and objectives, progress, adhering to the project management framework.
- Ensure all project documents are approved by the relevant stakeholders.
- Implement activities to ensure that that the tasks defined are properly assessed to identify the resource requirements and timelines for completion.
- Prepare briefing materials to support the CEO’s meetings, presentations (internal & external), liaising with Internal Communications and business lines as appropriate.
- Attend meetings with the CEO and other parties (or alone, representing the CEO), recording feedback and actions and driving actions where appropriate.
- Act as the liaison for coordinating and uploading of documents and data for due diligence.
Requirements
Educational Background:
- Master’s degree in Business Administration, Strategy, Finance, Economics, Project Management, or a related field.
- Certification in Strategic Planning or Balanced Scorecard Methodology is an asset.
- Project Management certification (e.g., PMP, PRINCE2) is highly desirable.
Work Experience:
- Minimum of 8–10 years of experience in strategic planning, corporate management, or business development within a complex organization, preferably in the financial services or corporate sector.
- Demonstrated experience managing large-scale projects and cross-functional teams.
- Proven track record in utilizing the Balanced Scorecard framework for strategy formulation and execution.
- Strong familiarity with local and international market trends and competitive analysis.
Technical Skills:
- Proficiency in using analytical tools and software for strategy monitoring and performance management.
- Advanced knowledge of project management tools and methodologies.
- Exceptional report-writing and presentation skills, with the ability to communicate complex ideas clearly to diverse audiences.

- Strong leadership and influencing skills, with the ability to engage and align stakeholders across multiple levels.
