Senior Manager – Human Resource Management, Development & Training

About the Role

Bank of Saint Lucia is seeking an experienced Senior Manager – Human Resource Management, Development & Training to lead and manage our HR function, ensuring alignment with the Bank’s values, goals, and mission. This role is integral in shaping our workforce strategy by attracting, selecting, developing, and retaining top talent while ensuring compliance with labour regulations and HR best practices.

The Senior Manager will serve as a key advisor to the Executive Team on HR matters affecting institutional planning and administration. Additionally, they will be accountable to the HR Committee of the Board of Directors for the development and implementation of HR policies and procedures.

 

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and manage the HR team, setting objectives and tracking progress.
  • Implement the Bank’s HR strategy and ensure compliance with labour legislation and regulations.
  • Develop and execute HR policies and programmes that support the Bank’s mission, goals and values.
  • Address employee requests and grievances in a timely manner.
  • Oversee human resource planning and workforce development.
  • Monitor and report key HR metrics to the Executive and Management Team.
  • Manage labour relations, including leading union negotiations and ensuring the consistent application of collective agreements.
  • Provide guidance and coaching to managers on employee relations matters.
  • Design and implement learning and development programmes, including career development paths for management.
  • Oversee the Bank’s compensation and benefits plan.
  • Manage the end-to-end recruitment and onboarding process.
  • Administer and report on the Bank’s performance management programme.

 

Qualifications & Experience

  • Master’s degree in Human Resource Management or a related field.
  • Minimum of eight (8) years’ experience in a senior HR management role within a unionised environment.
  • Proven expertise in:
    • Union negotiations and labour relations
    • Performance management and employee engagement
    • Compensation and benefits administration
    • Training and development
    • Employment law and compliance
    • Organisational development and change management
  • Experience with Human Resource Management Software is essential.
