Senior Loan Recoveries Officer - Chaguanas

The incumbent manages a portfolio of delinquent and non-performing accounts, using strategies like litigation and liquidation to restructure or collect debts and minimize losses for the bank.

Job Summary:
The incumbent manages an assigned portfolio comprising Watch listed, delinquent and non-performing Retail, Commercial and Corporate Accounts. In managing the portfolio, the incumbent will employ various strategies (litigation, liquidation, remediation) in order to maximize Management of the portfolio entails assigned non-performing and delinquent Corporate and Commercial loans and advances by either restructuring/terming out or collecting debts in order to minimize potential losses to the Bank. 

Key Responsibilities:

• Portfolio Management: 
• Manages an assigned portfolio of accounts which are Watch Listed or non-performing as well as any other assigned accounts in accordance with the bank's credit policy and regulatory guidelines. This includes having calls and meetings with the clients, jointly with the business where necessary, and making recommendations for the future handling of the account (e.g., liquidation, litigation, rehabilitation etc) 
• Implements agreed strategies (litigation, liquidation, rehabilitation) in an effort to minimize losses and maximize profits by reducing the non-performing loans portfolio. 
• Conducts site visits to determine the values and conditions of assets mortgaged to the Bank. 
• Liaises with external parties (attorneys, bailiffs, contractors etc) as and when required as part of the recoveries process.
• Internal Processes:
• Conducts testing of the provisions as and when required but at least on a quarterly basis to ensure that the provisions held by the Bank in respect of non- performing loans are realistic and adequate.
• Completion of monthly reports as required (Loan Loss Summary, Watchlist Accounts, NPLs etc). 
• Completion of the review of panels on an annual basis (panel of insurers, bailiffs, valuators etc). 
• Updating the Valuation Database on a fortnightly basis to ensure that information on new mortgages is captured on the database.
• Clients: 
• Conducts meetings and site visits with internal and external clients and stakeholders as part of the recovery process. 
• Provides guidance to internal clients (branches/units) in respect of delinquent or Watchlisted clients as and when required. 
• Responds to queries from external clients within 24 hours of requests being made.
• Perform other related duties as assigned.
