The Senior Human Resource Officer will be responsible for managing aspects of the Human Resource Life Cycle with specific focus on recruitment, onboarding, employee exit, training and development, performance management and employee compensation.

Essential duties include:

• Supervising staff and assisting with the management of Human Resource related matters for the various Departments

• Overseeing the efficient management of the processes involved in the Human Resource Lifecycle

• Ensuring adequate training and development activities are developed for all levels of employees and management, which are strategically aligned to company objectives and emerging needs

• Continuously reviewing the compensation structure and making recommendations for the improvement of metrics to maintain competitiveness

• Continuously reviewing and recommending Human Resource best practices approach to maintain the highest standards for service delivery

• Ensuring that all Human Resource practices comply with National labour legislation

• Applying sound communication strategies to share information with employees

• Coordinating activities required to conduct job evaluations and skills audits

• Reviewing and maintaining the competency framework and making recommendations for improvements where necessary

• Guiding the preparation and development of job descriptions as required

• Conducting regular engagement and enrichment exercises to determine the needs of employees to guide programme development

• Preparing Monthly Reports

Qualifications and Experience

• At minimum, a Bachelor’s Degree in Human Resource Management, Business Management, Psychology, and or related fields. Master’s Degree accepted

• Professional Human Resource Certification is a plus

• At least seven (7) years relevant experience as a Human Resource Generalist, Human Resource Specialist or Supervisor of a Human Resource Unit Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

• Strong Supervisory Management Skills

• Strong Computer Literacy Skills (including Microsoft Office Suite)

• Experience working with HRIS 

• Excellent time-management, coordination, and organizational skills

• Strong evaluative abilities to conduct skills audits and training needs assessments

• Excellent knowledge and familiarity with current Social Security, Employment and/or St. Kitts-Nevis Labour Laws

• Possess negotiation skills and knowledge of Labour and industrial relations practices

• Exceptional written and verbal communication for report writing and interpersonal communication

• Ability to incorporate people performance techniques to improve productivity

• Ability to motivate a team to achieve extra-ordinary results

• Ability to review and create compensation structures

• Ability to effectively engage employees, problem solve, build relationships, and provide sound advice

• Ability to Coach, Mentor, Teach and Train

• Customer Centric and Client focused

• Collaborative and Mature

• Trustworthy and highly confidential

• A valid Driver’s License

• Ability to work flexible hours to complete assigned tasks

• Willing to undertake continuous training
