Real Foods Inc., operators of the KFC Franchise in St. Lucia, is looking for a bright, competent Senior HVAC & Refrigeration Technician who will be responsible for all installation, maintenance, and repair of heating, ventilation, air conditioning and refrigeration systems throughout our stores.

Preferred Background and Experience

  • Experience managing a team of technicians with ability to plan individual jobs and long-term work operations, develop and manage a preventive maintenance program, and control the quality of repair work.
  • Ensuring that all work is undertaken in accordance with the manufacturer’s recommendations, conduct warranty services as necessary and ensure all work is carried out in accordance with HACCP standards.
  • Ability to recommend modifications to existing systems, review plans and specifications for contracted work, and review the work of outside contractors.
  • Must be able to train junior technicians and monitor their work, provide guidance and direction as necessary. 
  • Must be able to resolve problems by exercising discretionary judgement and analysis even in the most complex situations. 
  • Able to manage all aspects of ice makers, compressors, evaporators, and condensers.
  • Comfortable working with engineers to recommend solutions to improve efficiency and cost effectiveness.
  • Experience in maintaining repairing and examining refrigeration systems
  • Able to perform testing and making adjustments required to maintain refrigeration system within established limits.
  • Able to assess operation of machinery and equipment to diagnose cause of malfunctions, disassemble machinery and equipment to remove parts and make repairs.  
  • Compliance with Safety Programs to ensure protection of employees and property.

Preferred Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent; completion of a technical or vocational HVAC and Refrigeration program is preferred.
  • Proven experience as an HVAC/ Refrigeration technician, with at least 3-5 years of experience in commercial food service systems.
  • Previous experience in a supervisory or leadership role, demonstrating the ability to manage and guide a team of technicians.
  • Valid HVAC / Refrigeration technician license or certification as required by local regulations.
  • Knowledge of HACCP standards.
  • Proficient in using HVAC and Refrigeration diagnostic tools and equipment.
  • Strong physical stamina and ability to work in various weather conditions.
  • Valid driver's license and a clean driving record.
  • Excellent problem-solving and critical thinking skills.
