                           Senior Human Resource Assistant

Responsibilities

  • Manage the recruitment process of all non-management staff, including job postings, screening, interviewing, offer generation and orientation
  • Identify training needs and coordinate professional development programs
  • Ensure maintenance and update of employee records and databases, including job descriptions, attendance and leave records and performance evaluations
  • Assist with benefits administration, policy implementation/administration and employee retention and provide recommendations
  • Support the implementation of a performance management system, training and development tools and concepts
  • Investigate and resolve employee complaints/concerns related to employment
  • Ensure compliance with company policies and procedures, local labour laws and regulations
  • Ensure maintenance of and adherence to occupational, health and safety standards
  • Facilitate conflict resolution and promote a positive workplace culture
  • Support the development and maintenance of employee engagement initiatives
  • Assist with creating annual budgets for the HR department
  • Assist with the coordination, development and implementation of a comprehensive succession plan

Qualifications and Experience

  • Bachelor’s Degree in HR, Business/Administration  or a related field
  • HR Certification would be an asset, E.g. SHRM, PHR
  • Minimum three years’ experience in HR, preferably in a leadership or supervisory role

Skills

  • Strong interpersonal and relationship-building skills
  • Strong understanding of HR principles, practices and employment laws, such as the Labour Code
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills
  • High level of accuracy and attention to detail
  • Ability to handle sensitive and confidential information with discretion
  • Sound knowledge of benefits and compensation administration
  • Ability to lead HR projects and initiatives
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to think strategically and implement solutions effectively
  • Ability to support and mention junior HR staff
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Suite: Word, Excel, PowerPoint
  • Ability to adapt to changing business needs and work environments
